Getting Serious About Sauerkraut

Baked in a slow oven with browned pork steaks on top, till the steaks are falling off the bone. My German grandmother made her own kraut, here in the Midwest we use Franks canned kraut. The best commercial brand out there.

PLEASE help me make great whipped cream!

Cold bowl and beaters, flavor of your choice, powdered sugar speck of salt and 1 teaspoon light corn syrup. Put all ingredients in chilled bowl and whip till soft peaks form. Heavenly and the corn syrup helps it hold up and keep if it needs to stand in fridge for awhile.

Recipes You've Never Heard of Outside Your Family

Didn't see our family favorite. Still make it. Skinny egg noodles, cook, meanwhile melt butter and let it brown. Crush a sleeve of soda crackers. Drain noodles top with brown butter and cracker crumbs. Stir and enjoy. Has to be real butter.

Juicy Pork Shoulder

I use pork shoulder as do many in this area with Sauerkraut.
Brown it and layer with the kraut and bake in a slow oven.
The fat drips into the kraut and the flavor is to die for.

Wow- Pacific Natural Foods Roasted Red Pepper Soup

The very best thing about this soup is that it is Gluten Free and still tastes great.
That is so hard to find.
