Need suggestions for Michael's Noodles in Rockville TONIGHT

I've been wanting to go to Michael's for a while and will finally manage tonight. Any suggestions from the amazingly long 8-page menu? I searched this site and found only passing references and no specifics. We are extremely adventurous eaters so all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Namibia recommendations?

We are a family of 4 foodies going to Namibia next week: 2 nights in Windhoek, 2 nights in Swakopmond, and 2 nights in the desert on safari. Any good restaurant recos? We are adventurous eaters and drinkers, love local places, and we need kid-friendly, nothing overly fancy. Would love any recos any of you have.

Thanks.

Mother's Day Brunch w/ Kids?

Thanks for the great tip on Opentable. I checked it out and wondered if anyone has tried Beacon Bar and Grill, saw one lukewarm review and 2 great ones. They are doing a champagne Sunday brunch. Any views?

Mother's Day Brunch w/ Kids?

Any suggestions for a good mother's day brunch place where kids are welcome? Not too fancy but still nicer than your average brunch. Our kids are aged 7 and 5 and pretty good in restaurants.

Thanks.

Special dinner in Bonita Springs?

Thanks everyone. We love Roy's and will def. go there but that is a place we can go with the kids and we wanted to choose a more intimate place where we could go on the one night of our vacation that we have babysitting. If it's in Bonita Springs, that would be even better. Lastly, any views on sitting outside at Blue water, they have only outdoor tables at the time we want to go. Wyld's has a table also so we could still go there too. Also, are you all familiar wtih the Mucky Duck in Captiva? Is there anything like that in Bonita Springs/Naples where it's a fun bar to sit at on the beach and kids can play etc. there too? Thanks!!

Best chicken wings?

We ultimately went with Ledo and I was amazed but they were really pretty good wings. And, best is they gave us the wings and sauce separately so we put the wings in the over for a few minutes and then tossed them in the sauce, good spicy sauce and high quality wings that tasted hot and fresh.

Special dinner in Bonita Springs?

We'll be staying at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point and going out for dinner w/o the kids on Saturday night. What's the best food in a nice setting, preferably on the beach? From the past postings, it looks like Wyld's Cafe and Blue Water Bistro fit the bill but they both seem to be in malls which is kind of a bummer. Is there great food in also an intimate setting or on the beach for our one grown up night out?

Many thanks for your suggestions!

Good food options near Sarasota airport

Thanks everyone, these are great suggestions and I'm always glad to get something validated by a couple of posters so it's looking like Mi Pueblo! Thanks again.

Good food options near Sarasota airport

Any ideas for kid friendly, reasonably quick food near Sarasota/Bradenton airport? We'll be driving from the airport to Bonita Springs but will need to eat lunch fairly soon after landing so closer to the airport, the better. Did search the board but couldn't find airport-specific info as far as I could tell. Many thanks!

Best chicken wings?

We wanted to do take out chicken wings for the Superbowl tomorrow. Who has the best wings in the DC, nearby MD/VA area for pick up? Thanks for your advice!

Oyamel gone downhill?

Went there for brunch/lunch on Saturday and had the most fantastic meal. I was worried b/c of this series of posts but I have to say, every dish was fabulous: we ate very well, the sopes, ceviches, shrimp with tequila, scallop w/ pumpkin seed, chilaquiles (not authentic but still yummy), salmon w/ tomatillo type salsa, tamal verde (and I don't even like tamales), and we had every type of margarita between us and really, can't find a single fault! Service was also very attentive, we got there in phases, stayed for almost 4 hours and were never rushed, the food just kept coming but was well paced, the empty dishes cleared quickly etc. I also really liked how full and "happening" it was, we got there at 1pm and left at 4:30pm and it had a good number of people throughout so you felt like you were out at a fun place but could still have a convo.

Dinner in Ft. Myers?

We want to meet friends for dinner when we visit Bonita Springs, they'll be at Captiva. What's a good place to meet that would be convenient for both? Food must be awesome, we may have kids w/ us so I would like both kid friendly as well as adult options if we manage to get babysitting. We all love all food so really, no limits as long as it's good, and not touristy! Many thanks!

4 days in Bonita Springs

We are coming for a long weekend to stay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point which I understand is near Bonita Springs, about 30 miles south of Ft. Myers. We'll have our kids aged 5 and 7 yrs with us. Our past trips to Florida (Sanibel, Captiva, Naples) have been great except for the food (we end up in touristy kid-friendly places w/ horrific fried grouper fingers and that too, overpriced). So...would love recos for good food, real food, but in a kid friendly environment. Our kids go out to eat a lot and have fairly sophisticated tastes (i.e. they don't need a kid menu and love nearly all food) but they are also boisterous boys and can't be in tableclothed environments where they can't make noise. Grateful for any suggestions for dinner, lunch, etc., we'll rent a car so should be reasonably mobile and will travel for good food!

Thanks.

Cafe du Parc?

How is Cafe du Parc next to the Willard, both food and atmosphere (sounds like more of an outdoor cafe) for indoor eating at lunch time.

Saturday lunch ideas

Would love some ideas on a Saturday brunch/lunch spot for 3 girlfriends getting together after a long time. Quality of the food is the most important, however, a great atmosphere, intimate, warm, quiet enough to have a convo and linger would all be great too. Oh yes, and ideally, in G'town, Dupont, Adams Morgan, U St corridor, Logan Circle i.e. in the city but not downtown (2 of us work on K Street and feel like being in a more happening neighborhood on a Saturday).

Thanks so much for your recommendations!

Kemble Park Tavern?

This may be a bit late, but we went there last night w/ our 2 kids and thought it was excellent. Very cosy environment, friendly service, and great food. I had the shrimp and grits, awesome homemade grits, huge fresh shrimp, my husband had the lamb, wonderful. They had great kids plates, very generous for $6.95 (entree plus veggies, fries, and animal crackers) and though it is a tablecloth joint, they were clearly welcoming to the kids. We got there at 6pm on Friday night and there were about 4 tables full, it was totally packed when we left at 8pm and had a great neighborhood tavern feeling with the front bar full of people, and windows overlooking MacArthur Blvd, and the back tables very cosy w/ arm chairs and a library atmosphere. Apparently, the restaurant is a collaboration of some fairly well known local chefs, I'm going to try to find out more. They also told us they have been doing great business even though they opened on thanksgiving and everyone around was also raving. Would love to hear views of any others who have tried it.

Recs please - DC weekend w/ well-behaved kids

2 Amy's hands down is the place you MUST go, it's a casual pizzeria with excellent food that is super kid friendly but that you would go to even if you didn't have kids. Lines are out the door so get there for dinner by 5:30pm-6pm or try weekend lunch which can be easier. Thin Naples style pizzas that is actually not easy to get in Chicago, but also great small plates, crostinis, prosciutto, home made ice creams etc. Around the corner is Cafe Deluxe for good modern American fare and also very kid friendly. Right near your hotel (around 22nd and M/New Hampshire I think) is Meiwah for good Chinese food. You are also not far from Dupont Circle where Grillfish has good seafood. Bread Line at 18th and Pennsylvania near the White House has great lunches: sandwiches, soups, salads, great bread of course. Have a great visit!

Birthday dinner in Maui?

Any recommendations for great food for a bday dinner in Maui for 3 adults in their 70s. They love to eat but are likely to stick to fish and/or vegetarian stuff. Are there any restaurants that will easily allow us to do a gift certificate over the phone or by e-mail? Thanks so much.

Any good recommendations for vegetarians in Florence? They are pasta lovers and probably will try chicken or fish but not too adventurous. Is Garga still good by the way?

Kid-Friendly Restaurants in/near Sanibel?

We are flying into Ft. Myers and will be staying in Sanibel. We are serious foodies but need kid friendly spots where our 4 and 6 year olds will be welcome. The kids eat a wide range of food and have fairly sophisticated tastes but they don't exactly sit still and eat quietly thus kid friendly/noisy etc. is key. First, I would appreciate any recommendations for good lunch places on the road between Ft. Myers and Sanibel for that first travel day of arrival. Second, any tips on good restaurants in Sanibel itself for our other days, including take out etc. Lastly, any good grocery stores, with organic stuff, as well as just regular stuff? We'll have a kitchen and do some modest eating at home though mostly out.

Thanks so much for your tips.

Intimate Lunch Place

I'm looking for good places to take a friend for a special lunch as a mini-baby shower for her (just the 2 of us). I had thought of Restaurant Eve bistro but it is closed on Sundays and that is the only day we can go. What are good places that really do a good lunch/brunch on Sunday?
