Hercules: Coming (soon) Market Hall, upscale, mobile food vendors

Yes. It is going to be in the old parking lot for the transit/bus center which just moved to the East of the Freeway. The building is going up now. I am curious where the "shops, a park, bocce courts and a fire pit" are going as they haven't done anything to the rest of the parking lot.

Are you a Cheesecake Factory lover?

And there is food radio. The Restaurant Guys are out of Jersey but the show is excellent.

Are you a Cheesecake Factory lover?

The cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory is in fact, delivered frozen. Employees are required to refer to it as "deeply chilled" rather than frozen. My wife worked there for several years.

What I noticed at the time was that all of the food was consistently good but none of it was great.

Joe's Cable Car, SF - best burger, onion rings, chocolate malt?

They did a great job of showcasing this place on Diners,Drive-ins and Dives. I made a mental note of the place but now I'm glad I saw about the prices, wow.

Pret a Manger Comes To DC

I love this place. We have to travel to London once a year and I hit Pret a Manger almost daily (it's not hard because they are as plentiful as Starbuck's) I hope they keep the London flavor with their sandwich offerings like Falafal, Spinach and Tomato.

Why does organic milk taste "richer" than non-organic milk?

There are two distinct differences between typical whole milk and organic milk. Organic milk uses ultra pasteurization and the addition of organic milk powder.

Spruce, not impressed

Without defending Spruce I would like to give my opinion on what may have happened. As a long-time shop owner I have had several credit cards authorizations requesting a call. The call usually results in the credit card company asking me to confiscate the card. A sympathetic person or a diplomatic person may want to leave these problems for you to solve and not get involved. If my machine had said to call in I would have done the same.
They could have been lazy, they could have been helping to avoid further embarrassments .

Taste Pavilions

I thought it was going to be a rip-off. It certainly wasn't a bargain, and I am not sure I would say I got $65 in value out of it, but it was not at all a rip-off. We had a really good time and ate some great stuff. The 20 credit thing was fine. I got 19 in and we had to work hard to do it. I think $45 would have been a better price but I would have paid $75 if there would have been fewer people there.

Kauai (mostly south) report

We have been to Kauai several times and tried Keokis just once. I hated it. Surprisingly, Duke's Canoe Club, which is run by the same people and has virtually the same mediocre food, doesn't seem as bad.

the old NUT TREE - ginger bread cookies [Moved from SF Bay Area Board]

Does anyone remember the big gingerbread cookies from the Nut Tree as fondly as I do? When the Nut Tree closed in 1995? I was sad and it was mostly because of the loss of these delicious cookies. I have tried in vain to find a recipe or print display of them. Anyone know?

I was reminded of this when we pulled into the "new" Nut Tree in Vacaville last week. No, that is nothing like I expected.
