where can i buy an aluminum takeout tray with lid (taking food to work) -pic enclosed-

You can find these at party supply stores - I know I've seen them for sure at Party Packagers (chain store).

Oakville, Ontario Best sushi???

Welcome to Oakville! I'm fairly new to Oakville myself. I have not tried Mye so I cannot comment. I have tried two others - Niwa Japanese (in the Upper Oakville shopping plaza) and Crazy Sushi (in the Winston Churchill entertainment complex). I would say that both are quite good. Crazy Sushi is slightly less expensive than Niwa but the ambience at Niwa is nicer. Niwa is small (only about 5 booths) but the service is impeccable. The sushi in both is fine.

Fish and Chips

In Toronto, I grew up eating fish and chips on Friday nights from Greenwood Fish & Chips on Queen E. (at Degrassi). I haven't eaten there in a number of years, but it used to be old school with the fish and chips wrapped in newspaper. Honestly, the aroma of chips dusted lightly with salt and malt vinegar enclosed in newspaper really bring back memories. The fish was always delicious - the batter was crispy and light, and the fish moist and tender. The chips were fresh, handcut daily, and plenty greasy - no, really they were the perfect chip to use to make a "chip buddy". Yum!

I've had Caz's and Olde Yorke but they pale in comparison. The only other shop that is worthy is Duckworth's on the Danforth (although I haven't tried British Fish & Chips...).

If you're ever out in the Oakville area, Art's Fish and Chips on Sixth Line is fantastic.

what the heck are those cold elasticky noodles called that you get with Korean/Japanese food?

Those noodles are definitely the sweet potato starch noodles. I love them too! If you want to make your own, you can purchase them from a Chinese grocery store - they are in the dried noodles section.

Any decent pho in or near Oakville?

You really need to go to Mississauga to find decent pho. The closest is The Big Bowl on Dundas (between Winston Churchill and Erin Mills Pkwy) has always been dependable. The service is brisk and the portions are ample. There's also a pho place (I can't remember the name, sorry) in the chinese shopping plaza at the southeast corner of Burnhamthorpe and Erindale Station Road (there's a Tim Horton's in the plaza). It's tucked away in the middle section of this long strip plaza. The pho there is excellent! I highly recommend this place. Okay, now that I'm thinking about it I will need to have it!
