Panera in Mississauga? Still happening?

There has been a sign on the Kelseys that went out at Bathurst and Centre street that Panera was "coming soon" for over a year now. This morning driving past on the way to work was the first time I saw any hint of activity of work being done.

dinner in steeles/dufferin-bathurst area?

Chinese - Schewan Gourmet (on bathurst, 1 lights west of steels, on the East Side) or Cynthias, Bathust and Centre St (promenade Mall)

Not sure of the Georgian restaurant, but you may be refereing to the Uzbeki place, which is 2 minutes from York. Tashkent, its called. Street is called Petrolia. I went there based on the review in the Toronto Star and found it to be excellent. The food is great and quick, and the staff was also great at explaining all the different dishes.

Me Va Me at Bathurst and Steeles is also good for Shwarma, Kabebs and the like.

Any Uniquely Decorated Chinese Restaurant in T.O?

The only suggetion I can come up with is Cynthias, in Thornhill. The restaurant itself is not decorated all that "traditionally" but the staff all where fancy old fasioned costumes. Its also a little more upscale than most chinese places, and the food is quite good.

Flavoured lemonade?

There is a tiny little shop 2 stores south of Lakeshore West, on a small side street, next to a no name doughnout shop, that has about 25 kinds of lemonade, made fresh to order. Sorry, cant recall the name, but i always stop in during my summer bike rides. I belive the street is a few blocks East of Royal york.

General Tso's Chicken

Embee, you are going to make me cry. Our family used to go to this place at least once a month for over a decade. They started out a few doors down the road under the name "eating counter" before moving down the road and changing the name. Their General Geroge chicken was by far my favourite dish in the city and I have yet to find anything even close in comparison. They managed to stay open for a while afte Joe, the owner, passed away but things were never the same. The family sold the place I think and I dont even know what is there today. They also had a chicken dish that was lit on fire when they brought it to the table that was spectacular.

Shopping Mall eats

If you are talking about the fast food burger joint that used to be in Bayview Village years ago, it was called Tummy Ticklers or something along those lines.

Duluth, GA - Brewpub / Microbrewery

Hi

I am from Toronto, Canada and will be staying in Duluth for a few days on business next week. I am hoping for some suggestions on a good brewpub or microbrewery where I can sample some local craft beers. I am staying at the Mariott Gwinnet without a car but would take a taxi if it was worth it.

I would like to be able to head out after work for a good meal and hopefully find a place that will also carry be showing the Raptors playoff basketball game.

Any thoughs will be appreciated.

Pittsburg, Buffalo, Toronto

In Buffalo, you should go to La Nova. I know this is a strong statement, but they have the best wings I have ever had. By far. Try their World Famous BBQ wings. You will not be dissapointed. Very good greasy pizza as well, but the wings should not be missed. There are two locations. One very near the airport and the other near the boarder on West Ferry (sp ?) ave

I have always like just getting a box of the pulled pork from the hot food section at whole foods. Buy yourself a good bun and away you go.

Which Indian (not necessarily veg) in Thornhill/Markham?

I havent been to the Host up North but was not very fond of the one in Yorkville. I also would recommend Indian Kitchen as the best Indian Food in the North part of the city

Cynthia's Chinese Restaurant in Thornhill: Any Good?

I have been there several times (and take out a few times more). I think they are overpriced compared to most chinese places but I think the quality is slightly higher than most as well.

best buffets in toronto

Sorry to be a bit of topic (food)but I will reply to the question about "The Academy". I have never actually eaten there but I always hear great things. As far as a place to hang out and have a few drinks, its one of my favourites in the city. Great selection of drinks, scotches etc. Beautiful, old, pool tables. Highly recommended.

A little help for a newbie please!

If you are a beer drinker, and staying in that area, you should also check out cest what. Just one more place with good food (in my opinion any way) and good local beers.

Guyanese Style Chinese restaurants in the GTA?

Do a search for Eastern Twist on this board. A tiny little take out place (they have 2-3 small tables) that is more like indian/thai/guyanese.

Nachos in T.O

Best in the city has got to be the Kings Crown at Sneaky Dees. I seem to recall that the Madison also makes a fine plate of Natchos.
