New Kosher Pizza- 56th and Madison (NYC) I ate there this evening. Best pizza I've ever had. |

I wouldn't say R' Mehlman isn't well known - he certifies a bunch of places in Manhattan, and as far as I know, is well respected. |

Waterbury - Ami's Bagels and... anything else? Stopped by there a few weeks ago while passing through the area. Pizza and fries were very, very mediocre and the place was filthy. |

Why can't the Y.U. student body support a good take-out place? Ditto. Golan is fantastic. Filthy, but fantastic. Chop Chop is an abomination. |
Was there a few months ago. Food was great, as always. |

Creme Yvette/de violette kosher? That doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't have a brandy base. |
It's a shame, but no surprise. I had a pretty unpleasant experience there almost a year ago and never went back. |

Best kosher cuts for Maryland-style pit beef Try a silver tip roast. I think it's a shoulder cut. |

kosher restaurant jezebel to open in nyc Looking forward to seeing who gives the hechser.... with a name like that, I'm guessing it's not going to be any of the national ones. |

Quadruple it. Seriously. |

Ate lunch and dinner there this week. Great food, great atmosphere. Try the Kosh Burger, it's fantastic. Waiters are a bit too friendly, but maybe that's just me. Why can't we have a place like this in NYC? |

Ate there tonight. Pizza was quite good, but the garlic knots were overdone. |

Joy of Kosher Best of 2011....Joke of Kosher more like it I also disagree. Ate there a few weeks ago, had a fantastic meal. Try the sous-vide lamb, it's amazing. |

Best Costco in NY area for kosher meat? (or any other stores?) I'm a fan of the Costco in New Rochelle. They carry Solomon's Glatt, which I've enjoyed so far. Plus everything is vacuum packaged, so you can just toss it in the freezer and not worry about freezer burn. I recently took two ribeyes out of the freezer that I bought in June, they still tasted great. |

Agreed. Ate there recently and loved the place. Wish there was something like this in NYC. |

Moshe's Falafel Truck - 57th & B'way Anyone know where the cart has gone? Couldn't find it today. |

Moshe's Falafel Truck - 57th & B'way And great news for those who work around Columbus Circle. The truck is there today, and the Falafel is really good. |

Used to go there often, but haven't been there in at least a year. Food is good, but not good enough to justify the very high prices. |

I was there about a month ago. Mixed at best- empanadas were very good, so was the prime rib sandwich. Steaks were cold, though. We complained, they gave us free dessert, which turned out to be a bowl of melted parve ice cream. Ugh. |
Yeah, you're right, but who in their right mind would pay $30 a pound for stew meat? |
The Elk I got was loin steaks. I'm worried that they're gonna be a bit tough. But if it's anything like bison, though, the trick is to just serve as rare as possible. One thing annoyed me- they were selling Kobe beef stew meat. What a waste. There's no need for stew meat to be so marbled and tender- that's the whole point of stewing! |
I stopped by The Kosher Marketplace this evening on the way home from work. It seems they've started carrying kosher Kobe beef as well as Elk. Elk was "reasonably" priced at $20 a pound for loin steak, but the Kobe beef, depending on the cut, was from $30 to $60 a pound. Yikes! I bought some Elk, though I'm not sure what to do it- there's no marbling at all, it's just a hunk of pure protein. |
Thinking of going there tonight- anyone been there recently? |

What's the point of using flat sparkling wine? Might as well use a regular wine and save time. To be honest, I'm no longer looking for a kosher vermouth/ vermouth substitute. I just drink the gin straight, while waiving in the direction of France. |

Kosher Chinese in Queens (recommendations?) Cho-Sen Garden is by far your best choice. Great food, great service, and pretty good prices as well. |

Just had Dougie's delivered to my office in midtown. What a mistake. French fries were ice cold. Burger was completely raw on the inside. Disgusting. |

Best...news...ever! |

Thanks for info. Looks like it's going to be sushi for lunch sometime next week. |
So which is it? GAHB or Cafe Classico? OK or Tablet-K? Is it upstairs or downstairs? |
I just noticed this sushi restaurant listed on SeamlessWeb in their kosher section. It's located at West 57th between 5th and 6th. Anyone heard of this place? Who gives the hechser? I can't seem to find any information online. |
