Food worthy stops from Granada to Seville

Thank you so much, that website is fantastic! I think we're gonna drive from Granada to Antequara to Montilla then on to Sevilla. It was a tough choice as we're missing out on Ronda and the other hill towns, but we didn't want to over schedule our one day of driving. Thanks again!

Food worthy stops from Granada to Seville

My husband and I are driving from Granada to Seville (in 1 day) in a couple of weeks and we were planning on stopping in at least 1 small town along the way. We still haven't decided whether we're gonna go a little out of the way near Ronda and other hill towns or stick to a more direct path by Antequara and Osuna, but my main question is: are there any bodegas/farms/wineries/food producers worth visiting along either of those paths? Unfortunately, Jerez and all those other sherry towns are too far out of our way, but we'd love to visit some type of artisan food producer since we'll have the car. Like maybe a jamon producer? Sherry bodega? Anything along those lines. Thanks in advance for any tips you could give us!

Group of 9

Hi everyone-

This will be my first trip to New Orleans and, as a food editor, there's a lot of pressure on my shoulders to not waste a single meal on mediocre food. It'll be my bachelorette party, so there will be 9 of us. We have reservations for a Saturday night dinner at Herbsaint, but I'm not sure what to do about our Sunday night dinner. Since there are 9 of us we def. need to go somewhere that takes reservations, but I don't want another expensive restaurant. I was looking for somewhere casual (a total dive would be good!), inexpensive, unique (we're coming from NYC, so no Italian or sushi please), and not too far afield (we're staying in FQ, but are willing to take cabs), but then the super casual places don't take reservations typically. I made a place-holder reservation at Squeal BBQ based on someone's rec, but then I've read some uneven reviews. Any advice/recs? Help!

Groceries, seafood, ingredients, etc. in Sag Harbor/Noyack area

Hi, I'm renting a house in Noyack this August and was wondering if anyone could recommend some nice local grocery stores, supermarkets, seafood shops, bakeries, or butchers in the Sag Harbor-Noyack area. Most of what I'm finding on these boards are restaurant recommendations, in which I'm not interested at all. I plan on cooking every night we're there to take advantage of the grill.

I've picked up a couple of little recs here and there on the boards for Cavaniola cheese shop and Cromer's. Anywhere else? I'm really not interested in big name places like Citarella, even if they aren't that far (I live 3 blocks from a Citarella in Manhattan). I want nice, small, mom and pop type shops or at least supermarkets that won't rob me blind but have a good selection. Maybe particular roads where there are a lot of fruit and veg stands during the summer season?

SF Markets/Smaller Wineries near Healdsburg

I'll be spending a little less than a week in the Bay Area/Sonoma in August and had some questions. 1) The only full day I'll have in SF is a Sunday, my friends have suggested going to the Ferry Building Marketplace even if the Farmer's Market isn't there that day. There is, however, the "Heart of the City Market" I read about in the nytimes which is open on Sundays (downtown civic area). With my other plans I will probably only have time to go to one, should I hit up the Ferry Building because it's worth seeing even without the farmer's market or should I head to the heart of the city market? I'm from NYC so it's not like elegant food shops or farmer's markets are a novelty for me. I want to go where it'll be quite special. 2) I'll then be heading to a friend's house in Healdsburg for the rest of my time. I'd like to take 2-3 wine tours at mid-sized or smaller, more intimate wineries in Sonoma. No offense to Mondavi at all, but I just don't feel like going to a factory-sized version of a winery. Any suggestions for great wineries?

Napa Valley Wine Trains?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations for some type of wine tour on a train? My friend told me about it. Supposedly, it's a train that stops at a couple of wineries and then includes lunch or dinner on the train at the end? It sounds a little cheesy but it could also be a blast. I just don't wanna get suckered into going to some bad vineyards or being served a bad meal.

Anyone ever heard of a really good one?

Nantucket Markets

Also, if you can't guess, I've never stepped foot on Nantucket! So it seems like the center of town is the place to get everything. Is it a far drive from Tom Nevers? Are the buses convenient? Is biking to places realistic or is biking left to more leisurely pursuits?

Thanks again!

Nantucket Markets

This is piggybacking a little on a former topic about eating out in Nantucket. I'll be in Nantucket for the week leading up to 4th of July (lucky me!) and the house I've rented has a lovely kitchen about 10x the size of my cramped Manhattan one, so I plan on cooking A LOT.
I was wondering if people have recommendations or tips for buying groceries in Nantucket. Is there one giant supermarket for basics (ketchup, dried spices, hot dog buns, etc.) or is there a general store type place? Where's the best fishmonger or is there only one? What are the gourmet markets like? Is it worth it to shop at the higher end food shops or are there cheaper, more rustic alternatives? Where should I go for wonderful produce? Are there farmer's markets
If it helps the house I'm renting is in Tom Nevers.

Thank you!
