Gainesville: New Year's Eve Dinner with Kids?!

Leonardos 706 has a cool vibe, great food and some of the best service you can get in a college town. Check out their menu here http://www.leonardos706.com/. I highly suggest ordering a basket of garlic rolls.

BUSINESS DINNER IN OCALA?

Hope I'm not too late.... If you like Thai, Ayuthiya on S.R. 200 is good. It's in the K-Mart shoping center.

Lunch in Gainesville

I would stay away from Chop Stix Cafe. It is notorious for having health code violations.

Jacksonville/St. Augustine?

Not sure about the name of the restaurant, but there used to be a decent bbq place at The Landings on the St. Johns River in Downtown Jax. Even if you don't eat there, the landings is worth checking out. It offers a great view of the river/downtown along with an assortment of restaurants and shopping. If you're headed to Savannah, I would check out the infamous Lady and Sons or Uncle Bubba's Oyster House.

A St. Augustine Lunch

I second The Columbia. Harry's is good, but it is a franchise.

Winter Park, FL - Strollo's Cucina Due

Has anyone visited this new restaurant/market on Fairbanks in Winter Park? What do they offer? Any suggestions?

Going to St. Augustine...recommendations?

Try Creekside (http://www.creeksidedinery.com/), same owners as Salt Water Cowboys, but I like their southern side dishes and the atmosphere a lot better. They usually have a live band outside on the deck on Friday and Saturday nights. Get there early though, because you could be in for quite a wait. A good place for breakfast is the Oasis on A1A south of downtown. They have really good biscuits and a beachy/biker bar atmostphere.

St. Augustine 4th of July

I vacation in St. Augustine every year around the fourth and it definitely does not shut down for the holiday. My favorite place for breakfast is The Oasis on A1A. They have the best homemade biscuits. Here's their site: http://www.worldfamousoasis.com/.

Foodie bound for St. Augustine

Creekside is awesome, but you will definitely need to drive to get there. Also, if you're walking on Georgesreet, the Florida Craker is pretty good for a fish sandwich. You also must try the pralines at Savannah Sweets infront of the Cracker.
