Asuncion - Please Let the Foodie Gods Speak!

I guess no one really knows about food in Asuncion - I can give some recommendations, but that won't help answer my own question :-(

Il Mangiare - has the best pizza in Asuncion, hands down, I wasn't a huge fan of their pastas, but the Napolitana Pizza was really delicious

Shangri-La has the best Chinese food, though I just learned about China-Town which also has some delicious and healthy options

Don Vito's has the best empanadas in the city - try the 4 Queso and the Palmito (their meat empanadas don't add up to other local venues)

Bellini in Carmelitas has the best Italian food - well, Pasta. You can choose from 5 or so different types of pasta, (including ravioli, gnocchi, spaghetti, etc) and then you get to choose 8 ingredients and the type of sauce. It's really all delicious, as long as you know what ingredients you like!

Asuncion - Please Let the Foodie Gods Speak!

I live in Asuncion, Paraguay - it's been about 4 months now, and while I have learned a lot about what's good and what's mediocre, in a land of deep fried anything, mandioca (yucca), and beef beef beef I am looking for some delicious goodness in my diet! Anyone with any helpful hints or restaurant or gourmet tips, are welcome to reply :-)

3 Days In Town - Street Food / Casual - Your Recommendation?

Donut Plant is heavenly!! I've never been a huge donut fan, but you will dream about them - especially the jelly donuts with the jelly on the outside and dulce de leche...mmmm!

Authentic Empanadas?

I am a latin food lover and have not quite found that PERFECT empanada in Manhattan...I've had delicious empanadas at Buenos Aires Restaurant in the EV and pretty good gourmet empanadas at A Casa Fox in the LES - however I am looking for Authentic delicious meat and egg and olive filled goodness...not something fancy. Willing to travel to Brooklyn if that's where it's at...but prefer somewhere a little closer to home!

Thanks friends!

Looking for Great Steak - Argentinean?

My mom is coming into the city for her birthday this evening and I am looking for a restaurant that has a great steak, but is NOT a steakhouse. I had been thinking that Buenos Aires Restaurant in the EV would be great (they have a KILLER steak,) but it's not the nicest atmosphere for the food/money. (Personally, I recommend everyone go there for incredible Argentinean food - just not if you are with someone who likes a fancier feel restaurant for a big occasion)

I also have liked Rue 57 quite a bit, and even City Crab on Park Ave S...

Any suggestions of places within relative proximity to the East Side?

Thanks!!

Romantic Dinner - Loves Steak and Pork

Both restaurants look like good options. I have also heard good things about DGBG and Allen and Delancey - any take on those?

No Option to send password reminder

I have been trying to log in to my account for 20 minutes and cannot remember my password. The site does NOT give you ANY option to remind yourself of the password, or to e-mail it to you. This has become infuriating. If the password is not typed in correctly, it automatically links you to the "CREATE AN ACCOUNT" page - which I cannot do, of course, because my e-mail address is already in the system!

Please let me know if there is a way around this - or if this is simply a TERRIBLE usability issue.

vegan and or vegetarian in the city

One of my favorite vegetarian restaurants is Tiffin Wallah on 28th between Park and Lex. It is an Indian restaurant and at lunchtime they have a $7 buffet, which is delicious! I have been about 5 times now and have yet to eat something I didn't enjoy!

Can you suggest a great place to eat in Flatiron/Gramercy - that's moderately priced?

I'm a big fan of PUNCH on Broadway btwn 20th and 21st. The food isn't too high priced and the couple of times I've been I've really enjoyed it and the atmosphere.

Casual place in Murray Hill

I've had brunch at Hudson Place a couple of times and just recently went for dinner, it was delicious! Between the two of us we got a great French Onion Soup (which anyone who like the soup knows is hard to find) and hearty burger and delicious pasta primavera. It's moderately priced and you can sit for as long as you'd like.

Best Birthday Cake?

I might have taken part in that same office birthday cake. It sounds as delicious as the Amy's Chocolate Cake with Vanilla frosting I had last week. The best!
