Sri Lankian Resturants in Montreal?

Saturday late (May 23) afternoon I found Rolex and Momoi after getting mussels in the Outremount. Confirmed with the folks at Rolex that they would be open Sunday and went to Momoi and got two vegatable rolls to go. Heated them later at the youth hostel Saturdya night and they were quite tasty with a beer.

Sunday headed back to Rolex. I was told Saturday to arrive after 1pm because although Rolex opens at 7am, the stringhoppers aren't made for the day until 1pm. I mis-ordered and got Vegtable String Hopper Kittu - this came out with the stringhoppers cut up and stir fried with some vegetables and LOTS of chilis. I was hopping for whole stringhoppers, side of curry with chili samboal. I will try again next time I am in Montreal.

In the area was also a Sri Lankian clothes shop. Noticed a smallish market on the Jean-Talon as I walked towards the Jean-Talon Metro.

Falafel in Somerville?

Not a big fan of the falafel @ Sabra. They reheat it instead of making it fresh to order.

Thanks! I am coming up from Boston MA where there are none. Was in Sri Lanka the late 70's and the only places I know of in the USA are on Staten Island, NY. I'll post if I do give one a try. Stringhoppers and egghoppers are the meals I miss the most.

Crespi Genoa Pesto 700g

Any one know where I can get a jar of Crespi Genoa Pesto in the 700g size? Last time I went by Salumeria Italiana they only had one small jar. Seems they are sourcing now from someone else.

suprisingly good mall meal

Hi -
I was in Cambridge Galleria earlier this week; got hungry and hit the food court. Went to Shrimp Market and had their Jambalaya. Pretty tasty and with a decent spicy kick. Any other Mall meals folks would recommend?
