Group near theatre

Great choice! Food and service were very good! Perfect for our group.

Best Doughnuts in Toronto

If going to cottage country, Bredins Bakery on the Main Street in Uxbridge (Brock Road) is an old fashioned bakery out of the 60's. Chocolate dip doughtnut and jelly are just like some of us remember from that era. Delish!

Group near theatre

Thanks so much Cheery - it looks perfect for them!

Group near theatre

Tall order - but I am bringing a group on the easter weekend and on Friday (Easter Friday) to the theatre - about 20-25ish - they are not chow hounders and are cheap - is there anything you would recommend close to the theatre district for dinner before a show? Is there a good deli close by that might work for a large group. Have been doing some research but not sure where to go.
Thanks in advance.

San Jose Costa Rica

I am taking a small group for a eco tour through GAP
leaving from San Jose in February.

We are staying at the Days Inn Downtown San Jose.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a restaurant for the
Saturday night.

thanks in advance

Licks

Totally agree about Licks.. I thought at first it was me. I was craving a burger
last month..got it home..it was grey and the texture was very odd.. I too took a couple of bites and threw it in the garbage.. it was dreadful.. it has definitely changed
in last couple of months.

Starbucks, corner of Gerrard and Jones - wow

Different locations - different staff and management. The Starbucks in Markham on HIghway 7 is fabulous. The staff are amazing..everyone of them. Never bad service or errors and they are always professional and happy to see every customer. They know everyone's order and have it started before you walk in the door and work as a team. Guess we are lucky!

Dinner/Dancing Cleveland

Thanks so much ...great suggestions!
Jesse

Dinner/Dancing Cleveland

Thanks for the info rockandroller, there will probably be about 40 of us.

Dinner/Dancing Cleveland

I am organizing a group of 40 -50 year old singles to
spend a weekend in Cleveland in the New Year to visit
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Could you suggest a fun restaurant or two the group might
like and even better if you know of somewhere that "adults"
could dance afterwards.

Thanking you in advance!

Restaurant in Miami needed

I am bring a group of 50 to Miami pre-cruise. I am looking for somewhere fun
and reasonable to take them for dinner on a Saturday night .. somewhere that takes
reservations and can accomodate that big of group. Usually, on our pre-cruise
dinners we have done the Hard Rock..but I was looking for something different.
Most of are staying on Colins Avenue or at the Holiday Inn by the Cruise Port.

Thanks so much in advance.

Honeycrisps in T.O.?

Honeycrisp at Whitamore Farms - Steeles east of Markham Road and
pick your own at Applewood Farms in Stouffville - great little winery there - have some samples
when you are finished picking.

Looking for GREAT Italian restaurant vaughn / thornhill $$$

Tony Bulloni, on Bathurst above Steeles is fabulous. Never been disappointed
in the food and very reasonable for the quality.
7117 Bathurst Street - East Side ..watch for it in a strip plaza..apparently they
have one downtown as well.
Last was there a couple of weeks ago, had the special Angolotti with lobster- delicous!

Willow - Don't go!

Went to the Willow last night as part of a group, so no choice.
We arrive for 7, there are 10 of us.. we are the only ones in the restaurant.
The service was horrific. 3 of us got our meals at 7:45pm, 2 at 8:00pm, 2 at 8:05,
and the remaining 3 at 8:15...this is for basic items like taco salads, enchillladas, and
fajitias. In fact there were 3 taco salads and they all came out at different times. When we
enquired the waitress said there was only one person in the kitchen..... but quite a few waitstaff standing around the bar and someone -Owner? - that was in conversation with
someone the entire time and didn't look up to see what was going on.
I have never seen salsa like that..thin, watery soup looking - it was bad. Not a chunk of tomato or onion anywhere.
I had enchiladas... I have never seen them prepared this way... overcooked tough
steak was rolled in a tortilla and fried, .sour cream and "salsa: on the side....they were dry
and gross. Every enchilada I have had, has been baked with topping on top..not like this. The waitress could not handle our party and while pleasant I don't think understood english. We kept repeating basic things like asking for water or another drink. No one in the group
enjoyed their food and we left to indulge in a ice cream at Cafe Demetre because we
were starving.

Lai Toh Heen - Summerlicious dinner

As long as you head to Hollywood Gelato afterwards for a three scoop gelato you should
be full.

Party Sandwiches

Bought some PB a couple of weeks ago..they are getting worse..... Centre Street Deli are the best!

Toronto Hungarian Restaurants

I had a horrible meal at the coffee mill in the spring, my first time there, ..the goulash soup was swimming in oil.. in fact ,when it arrived my friend and I both looked at each in disbelief...the cabbage
roll was bland and the schnitzel just average..unless we hit an off day. I did
recently have a fabulous meal at Rhapsody in Richmond Hill, great food and service.

FAncy Hotel Buffet Brunches

Went to the Old Mill in March with a group ..very disappointed. The room is looking
very old and worn. Buffet very disappointing...entrees were blah with not much selection.
Roast Beef tough and chewy. Scrambled eggs were just gross. Cold shrimp were small, the Mandarin has larger and tastier shrimp. Lobster, again, cold and spongy. All of us got lobster the first round but nobody got any more. I was very surprised. With tax and tip it was $43.75.
I enjoyed the desserts which were good quality and that was it. Wouldn't be back.

Toni Bulloni - Thornhill

$18.00 to $25.00...servings are HUGE .... my friend and I both took food home.

Toni Bulloni - Thornhill

Forgot to mention ..the BEST Tiramisu I have had ever had!

Toni Bulloni - Thornhill

I had a great meal there a couple of weeks ago. Fresh and very tasty food and large portions, good service and very reasonable. I was there for dinner and apparently they have a hot table at lunch. You can certainly miss the sign...someone had told us about it but found it hard to find. Definitely will go back, great neighbourhood spot.

Quiche In Or Around Richmond Hill

Take out only..but Villager Grocer in Unionville has amazing quiche http://www.thevillagegrocer.com and lots of other amazing things!

Schnitzel Bistro Richmond Hill

Has anyone been? Did this restaurant take over the other
Hungarian restaurant that used to be in the heart of Richmond
Hill?

Holeechow

I tried Holy Chow about a month ago..after a ten year break...the food was absolutely dreadful, all the sauces came in sealed plastic bags!!! Soo guy sauce..in a bag!
I don't mind old school chinese once in a while ..but this was so bad I threw it the garbage..no wonder they are out of business.

Food at Palais Royale?

Average food...HUGE wait between courses...dinner lasted forever...I thought
the bride planned it that way..but she didn't, made for a very late night of speeches..people were exhausted before the dancing even started.
Some people got h'orderves some didn't ...they sure were not plentiful

Good butcher in Scarborough-Markham area?

http://www.thevillagegrocer.com/

the best by far..also homemade desserts, entrees and the best produce..
it is worth the drive to Unionville..spend some time on the main street after

Help for Vancouver

Would the Catcus Club be a good choice?

Help for Vancouver

There are a group of about 15 women meeting up in Vancouver for an Alaskan Cruise this summer.

Could you suggest a restaurant central downtown area for dinner for
the Saturday night before we leave. Hopefully somewhere that will take
a reservation and something not too expensive. We have a variety of ladies
that will spend $$$ for a great dinner and some that won't.

Many thanks!

Mother's Day Brunch - Markham/Richmond Hill Area

What about Angus Glen?

Embrujo Flamenco, Tapas Restaurant - A quick review

Have booked a group in the there a few times. Absolutely right, owner
very unpleasant and hard to deal with. We started supporting him when he started out..now I guess he feels he has enough customers and doesn't have to bother keeping guests happy or coming back. Sangria keeps going up, up in price...
and now it is way too expensive.
