Fine Dining in Kansas City

Rent a car. Trust me.

Recommendations for Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis

If you arrive in Knoxville early enough, you should drive straight to Cades Cove. No food service but many good picnic spots. Your little one might get to see a bear. Townsend, the small town outside the park has a number of dining options. Stay away from Gatlinburg. Only in TN a few days? I would seriously reconsider the scope of your trip. It is 800 miles roundtrip from Knoxville's airport to Memphis and back. A lot of driving for a few days. East TN has a lot to offer.

CaddyShack pizza KC

Is it worthy?

STL - can't miss spots downtown?

While staying at Union Station, you must have a leisurely drink in the Grand Hall.

This Sunday in the Quarter

Well that does not bode well. We are a party of six. Grown-ups. NOLA, Pelican Club or Mr. B's for dinner? FoodChic, I have followed your posts and like your input. Cheers.

This Sunday in the Quarter

I think we are going for the Pelican Club. Any naysayers?

This Sunday in the Quarter

I'm thinking more casual. Not Lucky Dog though.

This Sunday in the Quarter

Hello all,
We arrive this Sunday afternoon and are staying at the Monteleone. What are some dinner recs within easy walking distance? I use a cane. Mr. B's is out as we are lunching there the next day. Thanks in advance for your help.

Springfield, MO - single person

Buckingham's has good take-out bbq and there is a Steak n' Shake in Springfield that has never remodeled and still does curb service. Get your kicks on Route 66.

KC BBQ crawl - strategies needed

I usually say skip the sides, especially the fries. But my brother says the beans are a true benchmark of a good bbq joint. AB is an historical must. Give us a report back.

1 - 70: veg friendly dinner very near STL airport, and burritos in Columbia

Vegetarian subs from the Sub Shop.

Does any place in the St. Louis are serve a good Shrimp Po Boy?

How about Gumbo Shop on Manchester?

What makes Booches so good?

Gotta weigh in. Booches is incomparible to any other local burger. White Castle, Hardees, Wendys or any other of the highway chains that tout a slider. All sort of edible, but they are not a Booche burger. Billiards throws down an OK burger but it is dry and well done. Best burger in Columbia is a toss-up. The Anderson (California style) at Ernies or the burger at Murry's with a side of poblano mayonnaise.

Suggestions wanted for 4 day honeymoon trip - first time in SF

We stayed at the Motel Capri (not quite the Huntington) on our last trip to SF. We walked down to Chestnut and discovered Judy's Cafe for breakfast. It offered everything I like in a breakfast restaurant. Give it a try. Check out their website.

St Louis for a week

I can think of two places the kids might like. Crown Candy (they have food) and Fitz's Root Beer. Crown Candy is in a post-rustbelt neighborhood with not much else happening. Crown Candy is sort of the last man standing. Fitz's is on the Delmar Loop and the place is jumpin', with other stuff to do. (Many shops, entertainment venues and restaurants.)

jeff city mo?

Heading to the Lake next Friday afternoon from Columbia and want to stop along the way for dinner. Das Steinhaus? Any other suggestions. Thanks.

Restaurants near St. Louis airport

For breakfast. Goody Goodys.

classic Missouri comfort dish

Missouri bottom land sweet corn, eaten the day it is picked. Salt, pepper and butter.

St. Louis/STL recs near Washington University/WUSTL?

You will find a lot of choices on the Delmar Loop and the CWE. Also consider the Boathouse restaurant if the weather is nice. Call ahead to find out how insanely busy it is. Also, pick up a sandwich at Protzel's Deli on Wydown and take it to the foot of the Grand Basin on Lagoon Dr. in Forest Park to have a nice picnic.

Near Palmer House

Six adults staying at the Palmer House this weekend. Any deep dish pizza or other signature Chicago cuisine within walking distance? No hot dogs. We'll be eating plenty of those at Wrigley Field. Thanks in advance.

One day/night Union Station Marriott St. Louis

For a drink you cannot beat the ambience of the Great Hall right in Union Station.

Pls help me find amazing food near St Louis Barnes-Jewish Hospital

Try the restaurant on the 17th floor of Queenie Towers. Excellent view. Beer and wine service. And a decent lunch.

Need Help for dining this weekend in St. Louis!

Try GoodyGoody's for breakfast or lunch. Nothing like this in SF. Maybe Oakland but not SF.

Need to feed group of 24-30 teens dinner for 5 nights mid-July. Help!

Take over a Popeyes one night.

KC to STL by car - What's good along I 70?

Subshop still makes those fried potatoes at their Worley store which is just off the interstate.

KC to STL by car - What's good along I 70?

Ernie's in Columbia.

Branson - god help me, Branson

I have never had a bad breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Just close your eyes and be lead through that atrocious gift shop (close them on the way out too.) and you can order a breakfast that is amazingly consistent throughout all their stores.

Best non-chain breakfast in Rockford Il?

Anything out there? Thanks

Vietnamese buffet in KC?

Is there one in KC that is worthy? We will be a big group. A buffet sounds easier.

Best pub experience in Fells Point?

We are staying at the Henderson Wharf Inn this Sunday evening and would like to hang a little in Fells Point (I know, Sunday night). Which pub or bar would you recommend? We will probably catch dinner at the pub we land in, so a good crabcake or burger would be a plus. Thanks.
