Early Sunday AM Breakfast-Bellevue/Seattle Airport Area

It's also fun to sit at the counter and watch the line cooks juggle skillets. Eggs over easy, hard, sunnyside, omelets...all going at the same time and all just right. But my favorite is the Joe's Special.

What else can I do with kale and swiss chard?

Eating Well's Grits and Greens Casserole was the recipe that made me into a kale believer.

They're good for your heart...

My favorite bean lately is the mayocoba which I can get at local farmers' markets. It's just a good tasting bean. I've bought most of my dried beans lately from local growers. Now I think I'll go start some garbanzos soaking for that recipe from EWSflash.

Does anyone know how/if I can find Red Dog Tavern Armageddon hot sauce?

There are recipes scattered around the web. Ingredients: habaneros, Thai chili garlic sauce, garlic and honey.

You might try calling the tavern. It seems that the hot sauce was the creation of a former owner.

How Hard, Really, Is It To Provide A Tap List In Seattle?

I don't drink a lot of beer, but I'm far more likely to order a beer if I can tell what's on offer without asking. Got that, business owners? YOU MAKE A LIST, YOU SELL MORE BEER! (So in answer to your question Kaleo...yes, it does.)

Seattle's Best Sandwiches

Good to know. I've pondered it for a long time, but just couldn't wrap my brain around a Reuben without meat or cheese.

We Invented This Cocktail, Right?

Lots of gin and ginger ale drinks (Gin Buck, Dragonfly, etc), and here's a cocktail called a Gin-gin.

5.5cup rice cooker for individual?

It should do just fine with smaller amounts. It can make as little as one "rice cooker cup"...3/4 cup dry. It's also nice to have the option to make larger quantities for later reheating. Watch close the first time you do steel cut oats...even with small quantities and the porridge setting, you can have boil-over. We're a two person household and have used a similar National model for over a decade.

What's the most unique food experience in Seattle?

Why "no reservations"? Just curious, if you're willing to wait for a table but don't want to call ahead so you don't have to wait. Anyway...I think Poppy is fairly unique with non-traditional thalis. I also like eating "fancy" at Staple and Fancy. Oh, and Revel.

NE of the I-5 I-90 interchange

There's the section of the ID known as Little Saigon, many restaurants including Malay Satay. The adjoining neighborhood is generally lumped in with the Central District, though it's technically Jackson Place. The Peruvian chicken place is often busy, if that's any indication. I've only eaten there once. There is a high minded and pretty tasty pizza place just off Rainier: Humble Pie http://humblepieseattle.com/ and a comfort food haven, Cheeky Café, up Jackson: http://www.cheekycafe.com/

No Meat Pizza

Thin sliced potato with rosemary. Shaved asparagus is wonderful. Something odd I tried and liked was drained and rinsed sauerkraut...I told my husband what it was after he'd eaten it and said it was good! It's really fun once you get past the basics--anything in the fridge is fair game to try. Commenting on Greygarious's suggestion of beans, when I was in college a local delivery place came up with a pork & bean pizza...they gave out free samples to convince people they were good! Vegetarian baked beans would work.

Help with homemade kraut

Most sources I've seen even recommend just skimming off mold if it forms on the top, so I think your eyes and nose are probably the best judge. If you wanted to be really safe you could throw out the top layer.

What food like/dislikes do you have that are contradictory and make no sense?

My husband dislikes all fruit except (rarely) applesauce and orange juice. He hates peas and tomatoes but likes Brussell sprouts. He says, "I have survived to adulthood with all my childhood food prejudices intact!"

Hate raw tomatoes, cooked tomato chunks, tomato soup and tomato juice. Ketchup, salsa, smooth tomato sauce and sun-dried tomatoes, fine.
