Hong Kong - Kowloon or mid-level (Ohel Leah)?
your welcome have a fun report back if there are any kosher updates vis a vis HK
Hong Kong - Kowloon or mid-level (Ohel Leah)?
honestly it all really depends on if there are any major trade shows going on while your there. if so Kehilat Zion can get packed and when they have a lot of people they serve the food buffet style and its kind of all over the place so dont know if thats the best place to take a colleague. during the trade shows the Club is probably a better bet, though when KZ is on the ball their food is much better and so are the prices. Besides for midlevel or kowloon you could also daven and eat with chabad, a plus side of KZ is you can stay at the mandarin next door and given that itll prob rain the whole weekend staying closer to where you'll daven/eat is prob a good idea
Theoretical Question About A Bus Trip
well i've found matzah grape juice and gefilte fish in supermarkets at some of the oddest places (it seems supermarkets think kosher keeping jews only eat on passover ;)

Passover in puerto rico at Gran Melia
we went 3 or so years ago and while the place was beautiful the food was only ok and the service was horrendous, possibly the worse service i have ever experienced at a pesach program considering the price range.
So, money is tight...
meat and chicken are more expensive but other basics are cheaper, also vegetables are only sold per season so the ones you buy will always be the cheapest

i only moved to israel a few years ago but 50 for 2 for shabbos just really brought home the diff in prices kosher foodwise between here and the states, i just made shabbos for 6 at each meal for about 300 NIS which is about 85 USD...craazy

Shabbat Meals In Jerusalem
you can get takeout form a number of places in Jerusalem, like Heimeshe Essen, or get shabbos meals from restaurants like mervad kassamim, i dont think any restaurant will do prepaid meals because its too much of a concern due to shabbos and maaris eyen
Talia's Steakhouse
do not, i repeat do not, go to Talias its better to just stay home for dinner
Lay's Baked Potato Chips
are they kosher? i couldnt find an OU on it like the regular potato chips
Talia's Steakhouse
and either way you would probably just end up sitting at your table for over an hour waiting for your food only to have the order come out wrong and the food be cold...let's just say for whatever talias does have going for it, mainly easy parking, service is NOT one of them.
cheap vegetarian food in Jerusalem???
go to eluna.com, first you'll be able to print out the discounts and secondly they list numerous restaurants in jerusalem and all over israel.
i would suggest tmol shilshom, anna ticho house, and the numerous cafes on emek refaim st. (cafit, cafe hillel, pizza meter ect.)
Kosher in Montreal- Suggestions for dinner?
Try Pizza Pita they have a wide variety of pizza/salads and sushi though i would go just to have the poutine, you're Montreal after all
