What's good in Kitsap?

My daughter from Tacoma recommends Johnny 's or the Lobster Shop. Truthfully....I hear the best Oyster eating is on the other side of the Hood Canal bridge. Port Hadlock comes to my mind for some reason. There is a tiny little kitchy cafe there.

"As I stated in my previous post I am willing to give them another shot. I always give a restaurant two tries before they are crossed off my list. So before you go calling people snobs for stating their opinion ask yourself, 'Why support mediocrity?"

DITTO!
Hey Bfiesta...
I know you are a Cazadores fan....what does your family enjoy there? I really want to give them another try. We soooooo love traditional mexican food!!!! I daydream about foods I used to eat in my neighborhood as a child. I know they out there....lol!

Okay, well we finally got over to Los Cazadores about 3 weeks ago on a quiet evening. We took the fam...grown daughter, son-in-law, grandson..... I liked the authenticity of the place and I know what REAL mexican food tastes like. I grew up with it. This is the real deal and we were casual/comfortable. With that said, I felt the portions were a bit stingy. All of us walked away still hungry. Very odd for mexican food. A couple of our items were actually a little better from...dare I say it...Azteca. I dunno about this one. I think I will go back on a Friday night when the place is hustling.

Hey bfiesta,
We keep meaning to get over to Los Cazadores. I have even seen some great coupons in recent papers. I assume prices are reasonable. I am not sure why I keep putting it off. I am going this week!!!! Is there a better time to go? Some places tend to poop out by 8 p.m. We tend to be late eaters in the summer.

I just read through this link today and am so excited to find a community of people dedicated enough to come back to a thread and report what they have found out. I have lived here for years (16) and it seemed that just about every online restaurant review board went belly-up or simply disappeared. I found out about interesting places that are a "must try" for my family. I agreed and disagreed with many of the reviews....guess thats the glory of it all!
What I know: After recommendations from a co-worker about Luigi's Bakery, I made my husband swing in there (I don't get off work in time) and purchase a couple of $2 scones to go with some berries. I can't believe he walked out the door with them. They were so burnt! If it weren't for the strawberries I had juiced earlier in the day, they would have went in the trash. The flavor was good....once you got past the scorchy taste. Someone needs to clue them (the bakery guys) in to this board. We all want a good organic bakery and are pulling for them, but this appears to be the norm according to this board and another I visited recently. With that said, my husband said that the chocolate crossiants looked incredibly good.
I am excited to try Hi-Lo...I didn't realize that it was such a gem!! I didn't even know about La Fermata or August Winn. All of a sudden there are new options and since none of us wil be traveling around the country much this summer....that is great news!!!! Thanks!
