Visiting Boston for 2 Days

Hi. My husband and I are visiting downtown Boston for a weekend. We've never been there before. We're looking for recommendations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We'd like casual places for breakfast and lunch, but we're willing to splurge on dinner. We are looking for authentic "Boston" (ie. what the city is best known for.) Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Dessert on Saturday Afternoon?

mmusiker, you are right! I called Coco sala and although their restaurant isn't open during the day, the boutique is open all afternoon. Thank you!

Dessert on Saturday Afternoon?

I just looked at their website. The desserts look yummy. That's for the recommendation; it's a definite possibility.

Dessert on Saturday Afternoon?

My husband's sister and husband are coming to visit us on Saturday afternoon. We already have a resaurant picked out but wanted to go somewhere else a little later for dessert. We looked into Coco Sala but they don't open until 5, which is after our company will leave. Any recommendations for a good dessert place in DC that is open on Saturday Afternoon? Preferably, we'd like to stay in the Penn Quarter or Downtown area, but if we need to travel, we will.

Maia-- what to order?

Thanks. Did you enjoy the bistro?

Maia-- what to order?

I'm going to Maia for the first time this weekend to the upstairs "fine dining" part of the restaurant. Anyone been? Any recommendations on what to order?

Jaleo reservations during restaurant week?

Hi, Jaleo still doesn't take reservations for after 6:30pm even during restaurant week, correct? We're planning on going this weekend on one of the nights and want to be sure they will still take walk ins.

Oyamel-- Any recs for what to order?

Yes, we love ceviche so we're really looking forward to trying some there. I've heard very mixed reviews about their service -- from wonderful to horrid, so I'm prepared for almost anything with regard to their staff but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good waiter.

I checked out their menu online and, unfortunately, it seems they no longer have the stuffed pepper with pomegranate :(

Oyamel-- Any recs for what to order?

I'm going to Oyamel for dinner for the first time this weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations for what is a "must" to order and what is best to skip?

Dinner in the Main Line Area

I personally think Sang Kee is outstanding. Their Chinese pancake thing is just delicous and their soups are great. I've never had a anything other than a wonderful meal there, and if you don't want to go the expensive route (like Guard House Inn), I think this is your best best. But make reservation. Otherwise, you may have a very long wait ahead of your. And I also recommend Mediterranean Grill in Bryn Mawr. Their eggplant, yogurt, mint appetizer is fantastic and so is their spanikopita.

Bangkok Bistro in Georgetown?

Glad to hear it's decent. I don't know G'town at all and hadn't heard about this place so I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Bangkok Bistro in Georgetown?

We're going out with friends tonight who chose Bangkok Bistro for dinner. We've never heard of it. Has anyone gone? Is it decent? Any recs on what to order?

What to order at Zaytinya?

ohhh..I just read about it! Sounds yummy!

What to order at Zaytinya?

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. Everything sounds so delicious, I can't wait to try it all! And I'm glad to hear that you can order in waves. That way we can pace ourselves. Thanks!

What to order at Zaytinya?

My husband and I are going here this weekend for the first time. Any recommendations on "must try" dishes? Also, how many dishes would you suggest we order since this will be our first experience with "mezze"?

Brunch-Kennedy Center/Rooftop Restaurant?

That's very helpful! Thank you!

Anyone else have experience with the Roof Terrace Restaurant?

Brunch-Kennedy Center/Rooftop Restaurant?

I'm looking for a nice brunch place to take my mother for her birthday. We really like nice buffets for brunch but that is more of a preference than a necessity. I want something quite nice but not crazy expensive (no more than $50 per person). I've looked into the Rooftop Restaurant at the Kennedy Center and it seems like a good option. Has anyone been there? What was your experience like?

Any other suggestions?

Great Brunch Options in DC?

My husband and I just moved to DC from Philly and don't know the area well (yet). My mom is coming to visit in a couple weekends and it's her birthday, so we'd like to take her out for a really great brunch. Any ideas? We don't mind shelling out $$$ as this is her b-day gift. Also, if possible we'd like to stay close to the Penn Quarter area. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much! I'm taking my husband there next weekend - he wants to check it out for on his birthday night. I was wondering what to expect so this helped.

Anyone been to Blush for Brunch?

How was it?

In Philly for 4 Days

Barclay Prime is fantastic. I'd highly recommend it for one really nice and pricey night out.

Has anyone been yet? Raves or rants?
