Bamboo Sushi AYCA Northvale NJ

I haven't tried the new place but the old place was not AYCE.

Best Sushi in Northern NJ

It has been a while since I wrote this. I know I updated some place on this board that I went back a few times and it has gotten worse and worse each time. I am not sure what happened.

Happy Hour in Bergen County

I hate to admit this because I am not a big fan of Chains but the route 4 Houlihans gathers a decent crowd and does a nice happy hour.

There is also a place that is opening later this week called Boom Burger on Passaic Street in Rochelle Park. They have been advertising quite about about Happy Hours. It is right in the Ramada Hotel.

Down in Moonachie/ Carlstadt is the Grasshopper. We have gone there and had a nice time for Happy Hour.

I also have been hearing good things about the Twisted Elm in Elmwood Park for a drink and bite to eat. I don't know if they do happy hour specials though.

Seeking private party location in Bergen County

Have you looked at Bacari Grill in Washington Township or Biagios in Paramus. Both have very good food and service and are nice quiet restaurants.
There is also Valentino's in Park Ridge that has a small room that might work for your party.

Sear House in Closter - anyone been yet?

If you reread what I wrote "My burger which was ordered medium came out very well the other burger came out well too and we realized no one asked how it was to be cooked."
To clarify, I ordered mine medium. The second person just said I will take the same meaning the burger order and implied medium but that person was not asked how it was cooked.

Sear House in Closter - anyone been yet?

Maybe it was just an off time. I just figured since there was only one other table in there for lunch that shouldn't have had a hard time with cooking our food correctly.

Sear House in Closter - anyone been yet?

Walking in I thought "what a great space". I think they did a beauiful job on this place. It is open and airy and modern looking. I wanted to love it because I could see myself dining here often. I was so let down with the food. I went with some coworkers for lunch. We ordered some of the Kobe Beef Burgers, the Steak sandwich and the and BLT with gruyere cheese. Besides the steak sandwich everything else was let down. My burger which was ordered medium came out very well the other burger came out well too and we realized no one asked how it was to be cooked. The burgers looked so good as they were being served we were thrilled but they were soo dry it was painful to eat them. The BLT had one thick slice of bacon and that was it. It was in a ball in the middle of the sandwich so most of the sandwich was just cheese and lettuce withe the center bites only having bacon.
The best part of the meal was our cappuccino. It was delicious but that is not enough to bring me back for the food.

Great Macarons in Little Falls

I bought a dozen for $19.50
I think they were $2 each if bought individually.

Great Macarons in Little Falls

The big trend in NYC has been these boutique type places that sell assorted flavored Macarons. While they are wonderful they are very expensive and the trip into the city makes it more pricey and just not worth it. I came across a great little shop in Little Falls called Asalt &Buttery. They had the same amazing flavors (Rose, salted caramel, pistachio, raspberry and others). I thought they were very good and pretty comparable to the ones I bought in the city. While they are still a little pricey they were way cheaper than New York City.

Restaurant for 50th anniversary

What kind of food? What is your price limit? How far are you willing to drive?

Catering - Paramus

The Market Basket in Franklyn Lakes does catering. I believe the Maywood Market does as well. Both have good food and lots of options.

Nisi Greek Restaurant Closing

I guess the record got their email a little earlier than I did.
I agree I like Axia better as well. I actually hosted a holiday lunch for my department yesterday. Everything was wonderful.

I have had wonderful meals here and it is always mentioned as a favorite from our friends as well.

Great chocolates in Teaneck / north NJ area?

I have never been but my co-works always go to Hannah Krause in Paramus.

Looking for a mid-to-high end restaurant for 8-10 person private party in Bergen County

We just had a birthday dinner at La Famiglia in Bogota and it was excellent. They had a small room but I don't know if they would reserve it for such a small gqoup but since it is early they might. The place is not high end but the food was excellent and it was BYO.
Valentino's is a great place in Park Ridge that might be able to hlep you. They have a bar though.
Biagio's in Paramus might work for you.

Paella in Northern NJ

Everything I have had there has been good. Paella, Chilian Sea Bass, Chicken and Shrimp in garlic sauce, chorizo and even a simple arroz con pollo. The only thing I was not happy with was the octopus appetizer.

Paella in Northern NJ

I hate saying it because the place is always so busy as it is and I am forced to go to dinner on tuesday and wednesday nights but Segovia's is my favorite spanish restaurant in Bergen County.

what's your favorite greek place in bergen county?

A Taste of Greece should find a nicer location. The place is small but the food is very good. We tend to order food to go and eat at our dining room table or go during the week when it isn't crowded and we can get a table.

Best cupcakes in NJ?

I went back to the Petite Cafe in Nutley and they are now called The Stuffed Cupcake. There were the same wonderful cupcakes I remembered but now they offered a few more flavors combos. They have so many and each one I tried was wonderful.

Shannon Rose Irish Pub -- Ramsey

I have been to the one in clifton and I didn't think the food was very good. I have gone back quite a few times to grab a drink but that it about all it is good for.

Favorite Italian Restaurant in Bergen County

All our favorites are BYOB - Paisano's in Rutherford Aldos in Wyckoff and La Famiglia in Bogota.

L&B Spumoni Gardens type pizza in NJ?

Mario's in Maywood has L&B styled square pie with sauce on top. It called Grandma's style and it is excellent.

Locale Cafe, Closter NJ

The restaurant is good and the service is good too. I still say Dimora right down the road is a much better option.

Looking for a BYOB

Looking for Mexican, Tapas, Sushi or Hibatchi place in the Fort Lee or Paramus Areas.
It is for a group of about 12 people and we are going on a Saturday night.
We would be open to a fun place that had alcohol if it is not an expenise place but not a dive looking place either but we would prefer BYOB.

Pancakes-Best in NJ?

I wanted to like this place because I have been in search of a good pancake house in north jersey and this one is so close to me. It is too bad it was a let down. The regular pancakes were ok but everything else was not that good. We had whole grain delight pancakes, some chocolate chip and fruit pancakes and a cheese and bacon omelete.

Need a nice restaurant/lounge in North Bergen to go to for my 21st birthday with my girls.. Any ideas?

I second Sabor. It is a great spot for dinner and drinks.
You can always head right down the road to Hoboken where there are bars and restaurants on every corner.

Fun BYOB for girls night in Montclair

Cuban Pete's is Great! The only problem is it very popular and gets crowded. I don't think they take reservations.
Mediterranea is another option. It is casual and nicely decorated and the food is pretty good.

Best diners in NJ

I really like the food at the Northvale Diner but it is kind of pricey.

For a great cheap eats diner with good food I love the Butler Family Restaurant & Diner.
