What's the strangest, or best, food you have eaten at a State Fair, stadium, or other outdoor venue?
I want to pull together a list of the best, strangest and most delectable foods from state fairs, county fairs, outdoor events, and sporting venues.
Any "must have" items that are perhaps regional specialties?
I'd love to know more. All "food on a stick" welcome.
Best Cooking Tip
The best tip I ever got, besides someone telling me about Smoked Paprika -- phenomenal on so many dishes, grilled or otherwise -- was the Cook's Illustraed book - 500 Quick Kitchen Tips & Tenchniques. A great, great book chock full of ideas.
Saturday Exchange With FoodTV Executives
Can you say "over-exposure" ala Emeril? I can't believe i am saying this, but it may actually work. Somehow, she connects with people. I simply don't get it.
Saturday Exchange With FoodTV Executives
Andrew Zimmern's new show, entitled BIZARRE FOODS, will start airing in January. If you like Anthony Bourdain, then you will love Andrew's show. His first special had gotten a lot of play on Travel Channel.
So Which TV Food Shows Should I Watch?
Likewise, she looks a little bit like my mom, save the house, garden and catering business!
So Which TV Food Shows Should I Watch?
With regard to PBS shows, for me, I love America's Test Kitchen, and am also a huge Sarah Moulton fan, so can't wait to see what she comes up with. I believe she is launching on PBS, no?
your nominations for BEST BALLPARK FOOD in America: Major League and Minor League
I know Andrew Zimmern did a one hour special for the Travel Channel entitled, Ball Park Food, and although i can;t remember who "won," i think it still airs on Travel Channel periodically.
So Which TV Food Shows Should I Watch?
I have to say, the only show that I both enjoy watching, and have found to have bullet proof recipes (quick, easy, not too many ingredients, casual and fancy) is Barefoot Contessa with Ina Garten. I was lucky enoght to run into her at the Fancy Food Show in SF in Feb. at a Starbucks. She was their launching a line of cookware, and was so kind and gracious. It cemented her as "must watch" in my mind.
One day in Minneapolis - need suggestions.
I agree that anything in NE Minneapolis previously mentioned would be great, but if at all possible go to 112 Eatery. a must!
Dinner in St. Paul for a group - help!
Au Rabours, St. Paul Hotel are modestly fancy right in DT St. Paul. and The news neighborhood place is called the Happy Gnome. Lots a great micro brewed beers and I think they have a party room you can rent. Good luck!
Authentic Indian cooking at home
this is not technically cooking, but Maya Kaimal has an amazing line of refrigerated Tika Masala, Coconut Curry and Vindaloo that are fantastic. www.mayakaimal.com
