After the Game on Saturday

Any recommendations for bite after the game. Prefer a place that is within a 30 minute walk. Just about any cuisine is fine and the more low key the better.

In search of Local Favorites in Munich that stand the test of time

Will be visiting Munich for 10 days. I enjoy local food establishments and prefer a local long time favorite over the latest and greatest
even if it means the place is small, out of the way and hasn't been 'dolled-up'. I live in a big city where restaurants come and go and have come to understand that the best location with the best view does not mean the best food. I enjoy all kinds of food and am open to trying just about anything.

Peterborough, Ontario Good Eats Rec's

I am looking for a couple of interesting places to eat in Peterborough. I have been to Reggie's Burgers a few times (real good burgers) but would like to branch out when in town for business. Any ideas and price range is all good.

Dinner in the Beach

After reading the many reviews of places to eat (or not) I ended up eating at Bibiche Bistro at 2326 Queen East which had been mentioned a few times in various threads. Like many people I find an empty restaurant more of a warning than a "well at least we won't have to wait" reaction. So as we entered I was wondering if working outside the box was going to be a good idea. Turns out it was a great idea. The food was a solid 8. I had a wonderful steak (which i couldn't finish) and my dining partner had fish which she described as "wonderful" both came with spiced rice and red cabbage with sauteed onion and apple. We both started with salads, I had an wonderful salad with fresh baby lettuce, pear, strawberry and blueberries with walnuts and a wonderful vinaigrette. My partner had a artichoke salad which she said was great and I can agree as I had some. We shared Bread -pudding for dessert, (we couldn't finish it ) it came with melted dark chocolate and maple syrup...AMAZING. But the best part of our evening was our host. He and his business partner have been in business for twenty plus years (were on the Danforth for many years) and seem to have a figured out how to serve a good meal with fabulous service at a reasonable price. Those three things are some times hard to find in the city.

In Town for a 18th Birthday Dinner

I am looking for a recommendation for nice/ interesting place that has been a 'good place' for awhile.( i.e. not a place that wasn't around 8 months ago.) Not into going to the latest place because it is the 'latest place'. Tried Scaramouche (classic) but not available, so that would be the high end example, prefer downtown....French / Italian.....we have the usual places that we go to which one can find on a list of the top 50 places to eat in the city. We are trying to think outside the box yet not so outside that our 18 year old refuses to go in, ideas?

Any places in Toronto worthy of being on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives?

Gateway Subs and Burgers is a great place to get a burger, gyros, fries..etc...i visited three DDD places this summer with my family and as someone already posted just because its on tv does not make it great food.

Caplansky's - New Menu!

maybe he just tried to do too much too fast...at the monarch it was kept very simple and honestly people were falling over themselves to compliment the food.

Family Friendly in Ottawa

Visiting the city this weekend and am looking for some rec's for good places that are family/kid friendly. I have read a couple of the threads about Ottawa and they sound great but they may be beyond my nine year old. Brew Pubs? Family Dinners? Pubs?.

John's - A quick review. 1048 Bathurst, 1 block south Dupont, Italian style

i was there for dinner last friday and had a very nice dinner with my wife and two kids. the were four others having dinner but that was it, so the service was quick and the food fresh and as the other review noted it was reasonably priced. the location is not user friendly and i imagine they will have a tough go of it. for those who frequent the tarragon you now have one more option
