red rooster eating at bar?
to the specific question of "at the bar", i believe it is not legally okay for children to eat "at the bar" itself but it is fine to serve them at lounge tables. atleast this is what i have been told at several establishments.
meze grill, midtown, anyone been there?
wondering if this place is any good. it looks clean and the menu sounds good but maybe a bit expensive.
Looking for Crema di Gianduja
grom usually sells the jars from guido gobino, my personal favorite of all the gianduja makers
Any Luck with FreshDirect?
we live in columbus circle area as well and have come up with a combination shopping. i buy milk (because we have kids and i can't shlep 6 half gallons home a week), household, canned, beverages and such from fresh direct. whole foods gets meat, fish, veggies because i am rarely satisfied with the quality from fresh direct. interestingly enough, it is highly worth it to price shop the two for things you buy repeatedly. for example whole foods charges $1.69 for stonyfield yogurt drinks while fresh direct charges $1.79 and associated charges $2.69.
Seasonal Restaurant and Weinbar (midtown West) - any reviews ...?
please tell more, we live across the street and have been watching the place wondering if it is any good but haven't dared to go in yet. that space has been a death pit for the last 8 yrs we have lived on the block.
Katz's: beyond the pastrami
most importantly, you tip the cutter before he slices, then he presents you with a nice plate of meat to sample while he makes your sandwich
Need Help with Chocolate.
ernst and klein on 6th ave always has a pretty big selection of milka products
Vosges Chocolate w/ Applewood Bacon
they have been carrying it at whole foods recently.
Where can I find specialty baking ingredients?
whole foods has an excellent although not bulk, gluten free baking section with all different types of flours and gums, etc
Your Fresh Direct picks?
don't really like much of their fresh stuff but the rosa mexicano line of prepared heat and eats is pretty good. much better than any of their other heat and eat lines.
GIANDUIA chocolate

you want the ones from guido gobino, they are the best
Quick dessert after Burger Joint?
there's not much great in the area, i would go with baskin and robbins on 55th btw 5th and 6th, or they have a pretty great but extremely expensive ice cream shop in fao schwartz, you can get stuff to go but it's like $5 for a single scoop
Best Prociutto di Parma and San Danielle: NEED A BRAND! and where to get it!
try la quercia, they have it at whole foods. it is american made but it is really fantastic, better than any of the imported stuff. jeffrey steingarten has written about it recently. they carry all 3 types so you can taste them side by side if you want.
Large soda selection
it's been awhile, but if i remember correctly there is a place called great american in carrol gardens on the main drag that has almost any soda you could dream up as well as beer, water and other beverages. they deliver to manhattan with a minimum. it was our savior before fresh direct.
