Tokyo's shaved ice? [kakigoori]
カキ氷
I love shaved ice... Does anyone know of any good shaved ice places in Tokyo? I have tried googling, but to no avail. Also, I am more interested in less of a neon bright syrup shaved ice and more of a shaved ice with azuki and fruit. I know that it is not exactly Japanese street-fare style, but I'm hopeful!
I know that Tora-ya has a kakigoori, but other than that I have absolutely no ideas.
Also, has anyone had any good kanten (agar-agar) desserts in Tokyo?
Shimo-Kitazawa / Kichijoji
With a statement like that, you absolutely have to tell us more!!
What was it like- tell us about the stores, the food, the atmosphere... please?
Shimo-Kitazawa / Kichijoji
Silverjay- I saw your previous post on Angelica; it made me hungry!! Thanks for tabelog too... But I'm surprised... Angelica got 3rd for the bread & sweets category, while a place called shimokita cha-ya got 1st?
Have you tried the tea place?? That shaved ice looks AMAZING - it's definitely going on my list now!
Thanks E Eto! This may sound weird, but I really do love reading menus.
Shimo-Kitazawa / Kichijoji
I want to stray from the usual Tokyo path to go by Shimo-Kitazawa and/or Kichijoji. Does anyone know of any places that have local flavor and good fare that they'd like to recommend?
I'm a pescatarian, if that helps explain the vegetarian slant to my restaurant choices.

Where did you find your "the best takoyaki"?
I'm going to be in Tokyo, if that helps. I've had Gindaco's takoyaki, but that's about it.

Where did you find the best takoyaki?? I'm a HUGE fan of takoyaki, so if you could point me in the right direction, that would be very helpful.
