San Diego - Gaslamp/Convention Area

Thanks so much!

We attempted to go to Basic. There was a game and it was PACKED. It looked great tho.

We ended up eating at:
Tin Fish Cafe (twice - it was SO good and easy)
Lou and Mickey's (filet did just melt in my mouth)
Rockin Baja Lobster (good but nothing exciting, I'd get tosada salad again)
PJ's Cafe (easy pre-conference breakfast and tea)
MaryJanes (decent food, bad service)
Dussini (drinks and apps - excellent!)

I really enjoyed most of my meals. You can read more and see some pics on my blog: http://cupofgoodintentions.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the tips!

Cheap Eats in Vegas

I second the recommendations for Peppermill and Metro Pizza. I'll add Paymon's on Maryland Parkway. The South Point's breakfast buffet on the weekdays is not the world's best food but if you son is hungry, AYCE for like $6. Can't really beat that.

Table 34 is good for lunch (Warm Springs and Amigo) about $15/each. Actually, Bono's on Warm Springs and near-ish Bermuda is a great place for a nice greasy lunch. Really tasty!

I'd recommend a couple of chains that aren't too pricey or everywhere: Yard House at Town Square (south Strip), Elephant Bar at the District, Winchell's (Warm Springs), EVOs (south Eastern).

Las Vegas- $75 pp dinner with good food?

There's two parts to it...well three. There's the bar part. It's out front. You know how the Venetian is with the indoor but outdoor Venice feel. There's small tables out in that courtyard area. So that's totally like sitting at the busy mall. Great if you want to watch the Venetian shows and shoppers. Then there's the inside part which makes you feel like you are in a regular restaurant. It's darker, walls, still a little noisy but not bad. No more noisy when I was there than, say, Bouchon. I'd suggest making reservations and asking to sit inside.

I didn't see any fast food on your list, but have you been to EVOs?

The Himaylan place has (had?) a lunch buffet. Might be a good way to try it. I went with coworkers. It was good. Some of it not my cup of tea.

I really enjoyed my meal at Le Golosita. And also want to try RE

Special Vegas meal w view - Panevino?

I haven't been but several of my coworkers love it and several others want to try it! It's certainly got a lot of buzz around it. The menu sounds good.

One coworker in particular says it makes a great date dinner. A couple can eat for about $100.

Las Vegas: 2 Weeks of (usually) Fine Dining

I really like Le Golosita. I haven't had the gelato but the food was tasty and fresh. I think I even ate anchovy bread! I don't do anchovies. :)

I strongly second Enoteca San Marco! Go and eat to your heart's content. You might make it to $75 each. Get a cheese plate!!!!! I hear the dessert flight is to die for but I ate too much of everything else to find out.

One meal in Victoria

Mid-June, I am going to Seattle for work. I will be making a day trip to Victoria. If I only get one meal there, where should I go? It will be lunch/dinner. I'll have my mother with me - she's not a fan of seafood. I'm looking for more comfortable, good meal. Perhaps $30USD/person and under?

Thanks!
Christie

Las Vegas non-casino restaurants - looking for recommendations

Firefly has a "sister" restaurant next door now, called Dragonfly. Worth a try.

Town Square just south of the main Strip has opened and has numerous chains. But it also has The Yard House. Get the burger with the rum BBQ sauce. YUM! I wasn't super impressed with Louis's Fish Camp at the same plaza. But I know a lot people who are.

On Eastern is La Golista, Italian. EXCELLENT!

San Diego - Gaslamp/Convention Area

Hello!

My coworkers and I will be staying at the Hard Rock on 5th across from the convention center. We'd love suggestions for mid-price, casual restaurants within cab or walking distance that can accommodate parties of 8 or more. Chains not preferred!

Thanks bunches!
Christie
