Dear Scarpetta
How is it possible that you open your phone lines a month in advance and somehow, magically, prime seating, 7-9, is already booked up for a month from today? If I asked for a reservation for 10 people, maybe I would understand. 2 people! I've eaten here more than 10 times since the day you opened. I was there the week you opened, when it wasn't even full. I know you've become super popular since then (because your pretty boy chef is off opening up restaurants he will never cook at) and I am not asking for special treatment. You tell me to call me a month in advance and I followed that. Not only will I never eat at Scott's restaurant's again (1 because it is impossible to get a normal reservation at Scarpetta and 2 because is Faustina still open- that was a bad meal) but I will burn Scott's cookbook, as I have already memorized his tomato sauce receipe. By the way, you may want to find someone new to answer your phones. The women I got was a big C. apologize for the punctuation errors, but as you can see, I'm pissed.

Organic/ Grass Fed Meat in FH Queens
Anyone know where I can purchase organic or gass fed meat in Forest Hills Queens?
Whole Cow
Might be a weird question, but does anyone know any local farms that are willing to sell a whole slaughtered cow directly to consumers? Looking to buy a whole cow and split it up among many families, but must be grass fed.
Best Bloody Mary in Manhattan?
Ed's Lobster Bar has a really nice oyster bloody mary.
Halloumi at the Hummus Place?
Don't think it is grilled, but know for sure that it is not offered as a side dish.
last minute new date restaurant
What about Cookshop. Some good fish options for your kosher needs, and local and seasonal products for your "political grooviness." They may not have a table for two if you called, but you shouldn't have to wait longer than half an hour for a table for 2.
West Village - Great Place for Lunch
Spotted Pig. Cause when else can you have a calm normal meal there.
My birthday & I get to pick! Two nights!!
For the first night you can try to do Peasant or I've done a group party at the Orchard (when it was BYOB- which obviously saves on the $$). I heard that you can reserve a big table downstairs at Blue Ribbon Bakery. Might be worth checking out.
For night two I would go with Blue Hill. My wife took me there for my birthday last year. I've been to all the other places and they all are great (obviously Babbo is the hands down winner), but Blue Hill is a more special and intimate atmosphere than the others. Comes off being elegant with great (& ethical) food, but without the pretenciousness.
If you had to choose between...
Thanks. Have you been to Country (upstairs)? If yes, what did you think about it.
Hurry! NEED sugg's for tomorrow special dinner......need sexy place........
Not really as intimate but Cookshop comes to mind as a cute place that serves seasonal and local food in a really cool atmoshpere. Below 23rd street as well.
the most intimate restaurant with great food
Not really as intimate, but Cookshop is the first place that comes to find for seasonal cooking in a nice atmosphere.
If you had to choose between...
Gramercy Tavern vs. Eleven Madison Park vs. upstairs at Country for a birthday dinner for 2, which would it be?
Greenmarket?
Any recos for places such as Cookshop that focus heavily on greenmarket or locally grown ingredients?
