Going Away Dinner for 10 pple in Southbay Area

Hi, Im trying to organize a going away/birthday party and I'm looking for restaurants in the southbay specifically Torrance, Hermosa, Redondo, or Manhattan Beach. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Want it to be about $20 a person without drinks if possible. Open to all food choices except seafood. Thanks fellow hounds!

graduation dinner in orange county

Im looking for recommendations for a nice restaurant for my graduation dinner. A quiet, dinner for a group of around 20 people. Something middle eastern/mediteranean or Greek or Brazilian. NOT asian, mexican, italian, or seafood. Good food and good ambiance.

tom's tacos??

hello fellow hounds! So this last weekend Me and a friend ventured into LA to visit my favorite child hood fast food restaurant...the infamous...Tito's Tacos. So since this visit my mind has been infatuated with finding something similar in Orange County. I looked through threads on Chowhound and found out that Tom's Tacos used to be owned by the Tito's Tacos people. I was wondering if anyone knew how Tom's actually compares to Tito's?? And does Tom's have the same salsa as tito's??? I love Tito's salsa! Any help or other recommendations for fried tacos in the OC would be great!

Thanks!

all-you-can-eat sushi

I know its not in LA County, but if you ever head out to Orange County i would highly recommend You and I sushi. I know the name sounds like it would be a rundown americanized sushi joint, but its really really good and inexpensive without losing quality. At lunch its $17 and at dinner its $22. The way it works is instead of being a buffet you write down what you want and the chef behind the bar makes it for you and then brings it to your table, so you know it hasnt been sitting out for God knows how long! Also the rolls are really creative and the regular nigiri is really fresh. They also have non-sushi items like tempura and an AMAZING dynamite!

Can someone recommend a Japanese Curry Restaurant?

I really like Mishima. There is one on sawtelle and Santa monica blvd i believe and another one in Torrance. They have really good curry and they also have really good udon and soba dishes.

Good Sub Shops around West LA/Santa Monica?

If I wasnt a christian, bay cities would be my spiritual sanctuary! Try proscuitto and provolone with the works, no peppers. It's amazing! I say no peppers because it dominates the flavor of the proscuitto, and boy do i love my proscuitto!

best indian food in westwood area

I personally love Ambala on Westwood Blvd. It's kind of hidden in this kind of sunken strip mall. But the food is amazing!

Manhattan Beach - A culinary wasteland?

I love rock n' fish. i used to work there so i've tried most of the menu. I'm not just saying i like it because i used to work their either. their seafood is incredibly fresh. i would recomend the seared ahi. definitely try the potatoes au gratin.

Breakfast in Redondo Beach

I also agree Uncle Bill's is great for pancakes and eggs, but if your looking for more of a cafe type place, i would suggest La Pain Quotidien in Manhattan Beach Blvd. Its a french style cafe with pastries, entrees, and outstanding cappacinos.

Korean BBQ in LA

For years i have been going to Cho Dang in Torrance and I definitely love their tofu soups and their beef bul gogi, but they lack a selection of other korean style meats. Any reccomendations in LA for a carnivore on the prowl for some great BBQ meats?

Recs for Japanese restaurant? (birthday, Westside, toddler...HELP!)

I would highly reccomend Hide on Sawtelle. Great sushi that is reasonably priced and a number of cooked dishes as well. Try the Dynamite it is fantastic, im getting hungry just thinking about it! It is also definitely kid friendly, you will always see little ones inside. i actually used to go their when I was a toddler with my parents. Probably one of the most authentic and tasty sushi places in LA.

Wedding Cake

Porto's has the most amazing cake i have ever had in my life! I dont even really care for cake and frosting, and sweets in general, but i would seriously make the drive from Manhattan Beach all the way to Glendale for one of their out of this world cakes. Their chocolate is amazing!
