Anniversary dinner on the Big Island

Thanks for the feedback. Better late than never! My wife and I have now been going the past four years and agree with what you say. We enjoy drinks and appetizers while relaxing at Brown's. We continue to enjoy our actual anniversary dinner at Manta at Mauna Kea. The setting can't be beat and we've had wonderful service. I could do without the cats that wander thru the tables, but this has become a wonderful tradition that we continue to enjoy.

Bellagio Meal

Arrive Friday in Vegas. Always like to eat the first night where we're staying, to keep it nice and easy. Which Bellagio restaurant would you recommend? Then for the other two nights we're thinking two of our favorites, Fiamma at MGM and Rosemary's. Always open for something new, however. Please advise!

Anniversary dinner on the Big Island

Thanks, Hans. Will definitely hit Merriman's one night while we're there. Just thinking that sitting outside at Mauna Kea might provide a little more atmosphere.

Anniversary dinner on the Big Island

Going to Mauna Lani area of Hawaii over Thanksgiving and seeking recommendations for an anniversary dinner. Thinking of the restaurant at Mauna Kea. Thoughts? Other ideas?

Venetian/Palazzo Recommendations

Going to LV in early October, staying at The Palazzo. Always like to have first night's dinner in the place we're staying. Have enjoyed meals at Tao before. Used to be big fans of Postrio. Were underwhelmed at Morels.

Would like to try something new in Venetian/Palazzo complex. Recommendations?

Going to the 5th Ave Theatre Sat night & I am looking for dinner recommendations!

I echo PAO's comments about Tango. We always go there before heading to the Paramount. I love the duck confit spinach salad while my wife's favorite is the beans with harissa. Another fun option within easy walking distance of 5th Ave is Purple.

going to vegas, looking for recommendations?

Since you're at the south end of the Strip, I strongly recommend Fiamma at the MGM. The Fusilli with the truffle butter, is one of the most memorable meals I've had in years. Fabulous taste and definitely affordable. For seafood, you get great food and great service at RM Seafood in Mandalay Bay. Definitely costlier, however.

Dining at the Venetian

My wife and I are going to Vegas the beginning of August. We're already booked for one dinner at RM Seafood in Mandalay Bay (one of our favorites), but would like to try two other new spots.

We're going to a show at the Venetian so would like to have dinner there prior. What would you recommend? And, anything else up towards the north end of the strip? Of course we also love Fiamma at MGM so may buck up for the cab fare to go down there.

Thanks for any recommendations. We like good food, good service and someplace that can be fun, with class. Make sense?

Vegas recommendations

I would also recommend RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay. My wife and I had a wonderful meal there in April. Service was also superb. Anyone else try it?

Need something "new" for Vegas

My wife and I had a WONDERFUL meal at RM Seafood in Mandalay Bay. We ate in the more formal upstairs section where the service and food were both outstanding. The lower level is more casual and Rick Moonen's Catfish Sloppy Joes were recently featured on Oprah.

Mandalay Bay Options (Las Vegas)

Yeah, looking at around 9:30, or so. Any comparison opinions on Mix, Fleur de Lys and RM Seafood? I've heard Aureole is fairly overpriced and overrated.

Mandalay Bay Options (Las Vegas)

I'm working an event this coming Saturday night at Mandalay Bay and looking for suggestions for best place to eat later that night. Would like to stay within MB if possible, because I'm just looking for a nice dinner with my wife and then crash.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Top Non-Hotel Restaurants in Vegas

Rosemary's Restaurant, in Sutherlin, is the best in Vegas, hands down. Expensive cab ride, but worth it.

Thanksgiving in the O.C.

Looking for a place to take my wife and adult son for Thanksgiving in the Anaheim/O.C. area. We're going to be there for a college basketball tournament during the day.

Any thoughts about Mr. Stox or the Anaheim White House?

Thanks.

Eastside: I beg for your suggestions

For what it's worth, I'm a big fan of California Pizza Kitchen in Bellevue. Good quality and good variety. Particular favorites are the Kung Pao Spaghetti, the Waldorf Salad and the Thai Chicken Pizza. Also, their Key Lime Pie is the best, and most legit, I've had outside of Florida. We often go to fancier, more expensive places, and then ask, "Why didn't we go to CPK?"

San Diego Gaslamp area

I've read about places such as Chive, Aqua Blue, DeMedici and Osetra. Any word about them? Where's the best seafood? Is it The Fishery, or is there someplace in in the Gaslamp district?

San Diego Gaslamp area

Going to be staying in the Gaslamp area over Labor Day weekend. Any good recommendations within walking distance? Or, are we better off going to Pacific Beach area?

[SEA Eastside Bellevue] Opinions on restaurants?

I used to enjoy Andiamo, but will never go back. This past Valentine's Day I made early reservations for my wife and two other couples. Rather than making the evening special, they made it apparent that greed was the sole motivator. So many additional tables were added, that even the wait staff had difficulty walking between the customers without having them move their chairs around. Completely unannounced, they didn't offer their regular menu, but coula limited 3-entree offering. None of the menu items was vegetarian and when one of our members asked if they could make a simple vegetarian pasta we were told no. In fact, the waitress told us if we didn't like what was on the menu, we should go across the street to another restaurant. Finally, they said they could make one order of the vegetarian pasta. With this, the other two women said they wanted the same thing and we were told no, they would only make one order. Earlier in the day, I had dropped off roses at the restaurant and asked if they could be delivered. They assured me this would be no trouble. It turned out to be a huge problem. What was supposed to be a special night turned into the worst restaurant experience I remember having.
