rehearsal dinner near Lenox, MA
Thanks - that's helpful. I like the sound of Alta, didn't know about the steak house.
My fiance's mom suggested Church St Cafe -- ever been there?

Thanks for your reply -- very willing to drive to another town, but would prefer in the Great Barrington Stockbrige range -- ie within 20 minutes of Lenox.
Food quality is probably more important -- there's only two kids and one is too young to count, and we'll be aiming for the earliest seating possible, 5:30 pm or so, a time when any place except a brothel is likely to be kid-friendly enough.
rehearsal dinner near Lenox, MA
I'm getting married in Lenox, MA, in November, and am looking for suggestions for where to have a small rehearsal dinner on the Friday eve before the wedding, for a group of about 12 people. It has to be early, because of kids, and I'm hoping to find a reasonably priced and cozy place that's still appropriately festive. Any ideas would be very much appreciated - we don't know the area that well. One place I looked into was Nudel, a new place in Lenox that's excellent, but they did not seem so into accommodating a group of our size. Thanks!

Thanks all. I think it's going to be Zahav. Jaba, I've tried all of those except Lolita; will check it out.
Dinner in Philly
Hi all -- I'm looking for a nice dinner spot to take out some visitors in two weeks. I just booked at Matyson, but a friend who went a few days ago said she thought it was a bit just-ok. I'm also considering Zahav, Modo Mio, and maybe Bibou (if I could still get reservations at these places). I've taken these guys to Supper and they liked it a lot, and I suppose what I'm looking or is something equally bold/adventurous, rather than just fancy. I've eaten at Zahav a few times and I know it's solid, but for that very reason I thought I'd take the opportunity to try something new. Also considered Little Fish, which is a favorite of mine, but there's a non-fish-lover among us.
Any views on the places I mentioned, or new ideas, would be much appreciated! Thanks...
Philly fish markets?
Hi there - I was wondering whether anyone knows of some great fishmongers in town. I live in Center City, but am willing to go anywhere. I just need to find a place where things are impeccably fresh - fresh enough for making ceviche - but hopefully a bit cheaper than Whole Paycheck. That's where I've been defaulting to, because I haven't really found anything in the Italian Market where I feel confident enough about the quality.
