Returning to Manhattan for a girls get away
We love New York City and all its unique experiences. So far we have reservations at Quality Meats, Montebello and Carmine's. Will stay in the midtown section and won't be venturing out very far due to handicapping conditions of one in our group. Looking for outstanding lunch spots for sandwiches, pizza, etc. Any suggestioins would be greatly appreciated.
One last request for lunch before leaving Manhattan
Leaving for NYC and planning the last meal (of this trip) and need advice as to a last lunch. Considering Ma Peche and Le Bernadin. Should I consider other stellar spots?

Rethinking Babbo
Thank all of you for your wonderful responses. We have decided to keep our Babbo reservation and try to work in another one of two of your great recommendations.

Rethinking Babbo
InfoMofo and ChemWork, thank you both for your positive comments. There will only be two of us at this particular restaurant and we are both "Mario Fans." So I think we will just keep our Babbo reservation. Do either of you have a preference to the tasting menu or just ordering from the menu?

Rethinking Babbo
We were able to snag a reservation at Babbo for our upcoming NYC visit. However, after reading some of the negative comments, we may need to substitute another Italian restaurant. We were considering doing the tasting menu with wine pairings but need to be mindful of the cost and keep below $200 each. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Please help! Restaurant hunting with one member on a scooter
Michelleats, thank you for your help. To answer your question concerning the size of the scooter, it is only slightly bigger than a wheelchair and she can transfer herself from the scooter to the table with no problem if there is room to leave the scooter. Appreciate your help.
Please help! Restaurant hunting with one member on a scooter
We will be visiting New York City later this month and one in our group will require a scooter while we are there. Our hotel is in the midtown area and we will be touring that area as well as the upper east and west side (museums) and venturing south to the Greenwich Village and Soho areas. Since we will be eating lunch in these areas we are searching for restaurants that are "scooter friendly." You have helped us many times before and always rely upon Chowhound for expert advice. Thanks in advance.

Littleman, thank you for your wonderful suggestions. We will only be in Beaufort for the day as we will be going to Savannah to stay on the river. We were considering Local 11 Ten and Vic's on the River for two of the nights. Already have reservations for the Savannah Theatre.
