Suggestions for the best Greek restaurant in or near Tarpon Springs? Agreed Costa's is my first pick and Mykonos second. |

Ruths Chris Tampa - Disappointed Been there a few times and it's always the same. Service is good, not great; food is usually overcooked by the time it reaches the table (sizzling hot plates); sides are nothing to speak of; too pricey for what you get. Charley's down the street is much better with a citrus wood fired grill and more contemporary side offerings too. Shula's is also much better than Ruth's. In Tampa there are a lot of better options for a good steak. |

In Ft Lauderdale Johnny V's has a dish called Duck, duck, duck. It consist of seared duck breast, duck confit and a stuffing made with duck liver. |

Oasis herbs and spices in largo It looks like they also have a store in Tarpon Springs down in the Sponge Docks. I might have to check it out soon. Thanks. |

Why Did My Riedel Wine Glass Turn Red? The crystal has a million little imperfections on the surface (gives champagne all those little bubbles) I tend to rinse mine out after drinking anything especially red wine. The best thing to do with it once it has become stained is to put a touch of oxyclean in the glass and fill with water and let it soak a while, then clean as usual. |

I haven't been by there in a while, but my wife and I were regulars for lunch for the longest time until they changed everything (they even started serving the yellow rice in little pyramid shapes to make it fancier). It seemed as though they got a new chef and none of the food tasted as good as it did before and they also got rid of the lunch menu so you go for lunch and pay dinner prices. It was a bad move considering the location . It used to be jam packed with college students, proffesors, and workers from all over that area during lunch, the last few times we went it was almost dead and that was a while ago too. It's a shame I used to realy like them, now for Cuban we go to Rubens Cubans on Busch Blvd. |

Lil' Taqueria in Tarpon Springs... I finally made it to the taqueria today and it was great. I tried the carnitas tacos and chorizo sope. It's very small with only 3 tables but they are very friendly and tastey food. I will be going back again! |

Your favorite vegetable dishes Grilled anything, zucchini is great cut off the ends cut long wise in half season with s&p lightly oil and grill for a few minutes on each side. I also like a mixed veggie grill of zuchs, red pepper, onion, sweeet potaoes, beets, eggplant or anyoter veggie you have on hand season with, oil and if you want mix in some herbs. |

Mykonos is my second favorite place in the docks, they have really good food but the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired. But overall they have good and authentic Greek food and the service is usually pretty good too. |

Bonsia on Bearss Ave near USF or their other store on BBD and SR 56. They have good variety and great quality. |

I agree for authentic Greek go to Costa's they're address is: 521 Athens St Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. They have great octopus, their fried eggplant is the best around, I've been eating there for years and have never had a bad dish. Just up the street is National Bakery it's not touristy at all and they make great traditional deserts you can buy to send back home if you'd like (I don't think they ship, but there is always a UPS Store somewhere). Also across the street is Halki Market if you're in the need for any Greek groceries. |

Favorite restaurants in the Tampa Bay area... It's at 13 N Safford Ave, if you are coming west from Hwy 19 you would turn right at the Pinellas Trail then make your first left and left again into a parking lot. Once parked walk back toward Tarpon Ave and it's in about the middle of the building. Don't get scared of the decor, it looks like a junk shop, but the food is excellent. Chef Brad is from Louisiana and specializes in cajun but is an artist with all types of cuisine that is featured on their menu. I belive they are closed Sunday and Monday open for lunch 11-4(?) the rest of the week and dinner on Friday and Saturday (not sure the times) reservations are reccomended. Please keep in mind that when you go not to be on a tight schedule, it does take time for everything to be ready. They have a small kitchen with a 4 burner you would find in an average home and only 1 or 2 people cooking at a given time. Ask for a peak in the kitchen to check it out, you will appriciate what they can do much better after taking a peak. |

Nashville: Great Mexican Popsicles at Las Paletas I had high hopes for this place after all the recomendations online and they surpassed my expectations. These are the best popsicles around. I was in town for two days and went both days to so I could maximize my experience. Had the cantelope, honeydew, hibiscus, and avacado. My only regret is I didn't have more time to try the rest. Now they cost about $2.50. Also Bobby Flay challenged them to a "Throw Down" recently so keep your eyes open for that one. |

What's your best carbonara recipe? A good subsitute is salt pork if you don't want the smoke flavor or can't find pancetta, etc. |

Great Eats in Fort Lauderdale..... Yeah but you got to eat Johnny V's at least once while down there. But a lot of the places on the same street look promising too. |

I agree La Casa Dolce is a great spot and was the best I've had outside Italy. The sad news is they just closed their doors in SOHO. They did say they plan on opening another location sometime in the future, we'll see. I hope they do and this time make it a little further North, like in New Tampa or down by the university. Their wine and gelato tastings were good, but always real crowded. |

Lil' Taqueria in Tarpon Springs... That sounds great! I love small hole in the wall taquerias, I'll keep my eyes open next time I'm in Tarpon. Do you know if they take credit cards or only cash? |
