Best Bolognese Recipe

It is cold outside and I have a friend in town and we want to spend most of our time in the kitchen this weekend making good Italian food. I've looked around at the reviews for various Bolognese recipes and they are all mixed including Anne Burrell's which I'm leaning toward). What is your favorite recipe?

And, if you have a favorite tiramisu recipe you can throw that at me too.

Thanks in advance!

Sesame Noodle Recipes for Holiday Cocktail Party

I'd like to serve sesame noodles in small chinese takeout boxes at my holiday cocktail party. I'm looking for a good recipe. I've tried Ina Garden's but I don't like the peanut butter - I think it is too thick. And I'd like to serve them cold or at room temp.

Any suggested recipes?

Puppy Shower Menu Ideas?

I LOVE the sugar cookie idea! I'm positive that I can't make that cake - esp. with a new puppy in the kichen!

Puppy Shower Menu Ideas?

I'm bringing home my new Westie puppy at the end of next month. After he gets settled in, I want to have a couple people over for dinner to meet him. I thought it might be cute to be a little kitchy - but all I can come up with is hot dogs and hush puppies.

Any fun ideas? I'm thinking hot dogs might be my best bet so we can be casual in the backyard. But how to I dress that up?

Best Homemade Food Gift

I'm thinking about making small jars of vanilla infused sugar for my friends and family this year. As a back up, I may make pretzels dipped in caramel and sprinkled with peanuts and white chocolate. They are messy to make - but everyone loves them.

Thanksgiving in Boone/Banner Elk, NC

I'm spending Thanksgiving week in Boone and Banner Elk NC. Suggestions for places to eat? One trick - I don't want Thanksgiving meal suggestions or anything fancy. If you know the local hole in the wall hot spots - that is what I'm looking for!

Thanks!

housewarming menu - am I missing anything?

Perhaps my post was misleading. This is something to stop into anytime between 3-7. I highly doubt many will stay for 4 hours....

Good ideas though! Thank you!

housewarming menu - am I missing anything?

I'm having a housewarming party for around 50 people next Saturday from 3-7PM. I scheduled it in the middle of the day to avoiding having to feed people around meal time. But, I'm having a last minute hesitation about not having enough food. Here is what I have so far:

** Sausage in puff pastery (Ina's recipe using pork sausage instead of lamb) - I have enough to make 4 times the recipe

** Rosemary popcorn - I'll make enough for at least 3 refills in a large basket

** Large cheese tray w/ grapes and crackers

** small bowls of nuts

** Pan fried onion dip with chips and various veggies (enough for refills)

Do you think this is plenty for my non meal time party? Considering it is 50 people - in and out for 4 hours??? Should I add one more item? If so, what?

Greensboro NC breakfast

Nothing beats Smith Street Diner downtown. Great food and great atmosphere. Supporting Greensboro's growing center city isnt a bad idea either.

Durham, Raleigh, W-S, Greensboro, Charlotte

Yes, it is in the same building where Wild Magnolia was. Its been open for a little over a month. The same owner as Fishbones across the street. So, the crowd is pretty much the same.

Lunch in Triangle Area

I have a friend coming up from Florida next weekend. We are going to make a day trip into the Triangle for Southern Season, Trader Joes, Vietri Outlet, etc. Any suggestions on a place for lunch? I'm looking for something laid back - with a NC feel.
