Burgers in AdMo

I've been living in Adams Morgan for almost five years, and I just can't seem to find a decent burger joint. I have found Bourbon's burgers to be ok, but am looking for more. Anyone suggest good burgers in AdMo or even Mt. Pleasant? I'm also particularly interested in good burgers that are a good deal, too!

celebration dinner for a group of 20 people in DC

Thanks for the suggestions! Atlantico is out, as is Zaytina and Oyamel - they are all under the same company and have the same kind of set up (with tasting menus that are, in my opinion, too limited). Marvin is a great suggestion and I'm currently looking into it. Thanks!! Keep em coming!

celebration dinner for a group of 20 people in DC

Hey hounds! I'm having a birthday celebration dinner in DC for about 17-25 people. Every year I have gone to Jaleo (one of my favorites!) but this year the party has gotten too big and the restaurant wants to do a tasting menu to make it easier. This kind of defeats the purpose for Jaleo - usually everyone gets 3 tapas that they want and shares it, not everyone getting the same tapas with limited options. Anyway, I'm trying to think of some good places that won't break the bank, must be IN THE DISTRICT (and metro accessible), that could accommodate a group like this for dinner. We don't need a private room or anything, just a good amount of space. Also, the dinner is on a Monday night.
Thanks and chow down!

Suggestion for a Date in DC

Thanks, all! They ended up going to Pizzeria Paradiso and loved it (especially for the beer, which is a great thing to have on an early-in-the-relationship date!!)

Suggestion for a Date in DC

Hey Hounds -

A friend needs a date suggestion. Here are the parameters: close to Georgetown/ Foggy Bottom; relatively cheap (around $50 for both); quiet enough for conversation but not dead. I can think of a few great places around there and K street area that don't really fit the desired budget. Throw 'em at me!

Thanks and chow down!

Best Sliders in DC?

I just had the sliders at Vinoteca last night... the Lamb one is to DIE for (and I'm not usually even a fan of lamb)! The Bison was great, too.

Top Restaurants in New Haven, CT?

Hi - A good friend of mine is getting married in two weeks and then moving to New Haven by the new year. I'm thinking of getting them a gift certificate to a fabulous meal for their wedding gift. I'm willing to spend $200-250 if need be. What are the BEST restaurants in New Haven? Are there even any, or is it worth it for them to just go elsewhere?

favorite restaurant for about $100?

oh, yes, silly me! he's turning 34, has been living in Manhattan for 16 years, is pretty open to anything but nothing too fancy-schmancy. he generally takes me to more laid-back but trendy places when i visit, so i guess that's more of his cup of tea. the $75-100 could cover the cost of his meal and maybe some of his partner's (but doesn't have to be all). drinks not a problem - they are both sober. so we're just looking at good food. thanks!

favorite restaurant for about $100?

I'd like to get my brother a gift certificate for a good meal for his birthday tomorrow. He lives at 37th street and 9th Ave area. I'm pretty clueless about NYC, especially about the restaurants. Please help! I'm willing to spend $75-100 on a gift certificate and desperately need suggestions. French food is out, most others food is game.

Thanks so much and ping me if you need any DC advice!

What's a good spot for a picnic in DC?

If you can get out there, the National Arboretum is the best around - large enough so you can disappear easily enough, and you can even find some gazebos and benches if you want.

Jose Andres's Restaurants

I am seriously addicted to Jaleo's buñuelos, and while I love the other places, those buñuelos will always have my vote. So good, you want to use the aioli for everything else that you order! I've taken so many people to Jaleo, and, hands down, it is ALWAYS the one dish that needs a reprise and another one ordered.

looking for some good creme brulee

My friend and I have had some serious cravings for a mean creme brulee. We live in the District and prefer to keep things metro accessable. Any suggestions?
