Had steamers, great fresh salasd, grilled salmon.....great seasoning and portion. Others had blacked scallops with angel hair pasta and seafood casseroles.....everyone loved everything.

Baby Shower Venue on Boston's North Shore?
Paradiso in Swampscott does great private functions.
Delicious lobster
I have to recommend Sugarcane Restaurant in Peabody Square. It's Chinese and Vietnamese. My husband got the special last Friday night, Ginger Scallion Lobster. It was a whole lobster, broken up for easy eating, in a delicious ginger scallion sauce. And, it was only $13! Steamed white rice, to wipe up the sauce with, was $1 more. Such a steal.
I had a Vietnamese vermicelli bowl with spring rolls and grilled shrimp, also fanstatic.
I also recommend their Thai salmon and steamed dumplings and pho.
It's a great place, nice, clean, great staff, full bar, parking.

For outside Boston, Miyako in Danvers....excellent spicy scallops!!!
Is H-Mart in Burlington Dead?
Drove by last week and a sign on the window said opening Friday, 9/25.
Current consensus on best "everyday" sushi?
Miyako in Danvers, Fresh Taste of Asia in Salem and Gourmet Garden in Swampscott are also all great. Miyako is probably the best quality, taste and value. The spicy scallop roll is unreal!
Casual dining/take-out/delivery in Beverly
Jade House on Lafayette in Salem is GREAT Chinese takeout. Looks horrrible from the outside, I've never set foot inside...caters to SS College kids, but the takeout is fantastic. Great flavor, not too salty, not greasy at all.....classic 'American' Chinese.
East Boston-Most overlooked foodie destination

All Seasons Table right in Malden....fantastic food, perfect yellowtail, beautiful place....
Valley and coming soon Habasa (?) Malden Ctr
What to get at Valley is the turkey sandwich. It comes on the housemade wheat bread, with a good amount of real sliced turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo and cranberry sauce. The mayo and cranberry combine to make a special sauce...it's a huge hit at my office down the street, we'll order 12 turkey's at a time!

Downtown Crossing Dinner
Looking for a fun place to have dinner near Downtown Crossing/the Boston Common. A group of 7 ladies are headed out to see SATC at the Lowes Boston Common and want a fun dinner before....martini's, etc.
Beyond disappointed with New Ginza, Watertown
Too bad, I've been a few times and it's always been great....
Best pizza in Boston?
You can battle Regina's versus Santarpio's all day......but not a bad backup is Highland Cafe in Malden.....
Salem, MA Rehearsal Dinner?
I had my wedding and rehearsal dinner last October in Swampscott. I live in Salem now and say do not try to do anything in October. Our rehearsal was at Paradiso Ristaurante on Railroad Ave in Swampscott. It's less than 5 miles/15 minutes from Salem. They were super nice, the food was excellent (homemade pasta), they let us have the entire back of the restaurant to ourselves....they even printed out personal menus for us. It was perfect.
Macaroni and cheese
10 Center Street in Newburyport has great Lobster Mac & Cheese.....
Summer is Coming...Where to find 'skinny' food
Greek Corner Restaurant on Mass Ave in Cambridge. Grilled meat, chicken or lean lamb, simple rice and lots of salad. Also, the combo platter app is the best thing there....veggies, feta, spreads.....but share it with the table....
Looking for best fish taco's in Boston??
Now, don't laugh.....the first time I ever had fish tacos was at a chain restaurant. Cactus Jack's Great West Grill in Manchester, NH. They serve:
Crispy Haddock Tacos: Fresh Atlantic haddock, crispy fried and stuffed inside two crab-dip wrapped hard shell tacos. Filled with lettuce, pico de gallo, and melted colby & Jack cheese. Served with corral fries, homemade cactus slaw and tartar sauce.
Clearly, they are not authentic....but they are pretty tasty. The double layer shell is genius.
Paradisio in Swampscott
I just posted about Red Rock on another entry....again, I went in Mid-April and it was fantastic....food, drinks, service.
As for Paradiso, I love it there. I actually had my rehearsal dinner there last October. We had the whole back area, about 65 people. We had a family style menu. The service was fantastic, they could not do enough for us and the food was great, esp the homemade pasta.
"Fun" on the North Shore
I agree with Strega in Salem and Soma in Beverly....both fun, good food and drinks, lively crowds...
RED ROCK Bistro in Swampscott
Just my opinion...but I went with my husband about Mid-April and had a fantastic night. We sat right at the huge windows facing the water, the view is stunning, esp with the tide coming in. He made a reservation earlier that week and we were seated right away.
Our waitress could not have been nicer....very attentive, yet not too much, helpful, patient, very sweet.
The drinks were fantastic. I had a few pear martini's and the husband had a Manhattan, and it was made perfectly.
The food was also excellent. We split oysters, don't remember what kind, but again the waitress was very helpful...asked what size and flavors we preferred, etc. I had filet mignon spring rolls and a halibut special. He had a special app and dinner, which were fantastic. Dessert, we split a peanut butter/banana thing that was excellent.
I've been there other times and the clams and lobster pizza are great, as well as the brunch.
It's not cheap, I will agree with that, but on my last visit, it was worth it.
