ABBOCCATO in the Blakely Hotel
I have not tried it, however... Why would you? The menu looks fine, though not out of the ordinary and it is so far from anything else or any transport in Manhattan, it may as well be on the Moon.
Per your comment below, for $100 per person, you can do well at several of the places mentioned in the thread. I'd avoid Gordon Ramsey. Also - how formal are you looking for?
ABBOCCATO in the Blakely Hotel
Abbocato is not great. Food way too salty and indifferently prepared. On the same block, I recomment Osteria del Circo or one block farther on 55th, try Il Corso. Either will be a far better experience if you want Italian food in that neighborhood.

Need PA-centric foods for my new book
Pepperoni balls from Erie. I miss them soooo much.
Anything new In Buenos Aires?
I adored Juana M., a parilla in the Retiro. The food is quite good, including a decent salad bar, prices were great and the service was outstanding. And it was an utterly charming place - unpretentious, not particularly touristy despite being featured in several guides.
Was it the best food I had in my 2 weeks in BA? No, but it was certainly delicious. And really the atmosphere made it my favorite restaurant I went to there. In fact, I went 3 times. Loved it.
casual & light American lunch less than a 15 minute walk from MoMA/Saks/Rockerfeller Center & less than $25 per person
I'd highly recommend Certe (20 West 55th, btwn 5th & 6th Aves). Delicious simple food. A bit more upscale than a diner, yet not too fancy and well-priced. It can be a little hard to find, and when you walk in it's all counter service but walk to the back and there's a dining area.
It's exactly what you're looking for.
Naples-Pizza Poll.....
Hi - I just returned from 2 weeks in Italy. Loved Naples and hope you have a fantastic time there. Did nothing but eat pizza the 4 days I was there and without a doubt thought Sorbillo was head and shoulders above the rest.
