Does anyone know where to purchase sweetbreads?

I'm looking for preferable fresh sweetbreads. I heard Mollie Stones may have them, but I think they are frozen. If anyone has any sources of where to get them fresh it would be greatly appreciated.

Any places to check out in Mitaka??

I will be traveling to Mitaka to go check out the Ghibli museum, and I know the cafe they have there will be packed and full of kiddies. Are there any yummy places to eat around there? I know it's more of a suburban area in Mitaka, but I don't mind a walk.

Solo diner tips in Tokyo and Kyoto

I have about a week to go until I fly out to Japan. It will be my first time there and I will also be traveling solo. Will it be difficult to find places to dine as one, esp. as a female? I speak very little Japanese but am quite adventurous food wise. Are there and tips and dining recs?

Grocery Stores in Shinjuku

Thanks for the rec. I will most definitely check this place out. And you're not alone, I love to spend hours at stores especially stores in foreign countries finding and looking at the out of the ordinary.

Grocery Stores in Shinjuku

Grocery Stores in Shinjuku

I will be staying in Shinjuku for a few nights at a place where I will have a kitchen. I also love to explore grocery stores to find not so common foodstuffs . I know of the depachika and convi stores, but is there a grocery chain that would serve my needs in that area? Thanks!

Cupcakes are dry. Magnolia Bakery Cookbook.

I've also experienced a dry cupcake when I used Magnolia's recipe through their cook book. I've never been to their shop and after tasting these makes me wonder what is all the hype about them? Or do they mess up their recipes in the book on purpose.

What to do with lotsa lemons?

Costco Knife set by Kai - Makers of Shun- Similar quality maybe??

Has anyone seen or purchased this knife set from Costco, made by Kai?

I'm really tempted to purchase this but iffy about the quality, since I haven't seen it at their stores and I think it is only offered online. Of course, Costco has a great return policy, but would still like some feedback or opinions on these knives. They also have a 6 piece global knife set for $349.

Favorite Brownie/Bars Recipes

Mark Bittman's Simple Brownie Recipe!!

Asian steam boat sauces.

Have a variety of sauces and condiments for your guests to mix and create.
You can't go wrong with a mixture of soy, sesame oil, oyster sauce, and sliced Jalapenos.
My fave is to mix some hoisin, chinese satay sauce, cilantro, mixed with a raw egg.

I never eat _______ out because nobody makes it right but me.

Breakfast - I like to make my own eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, pancakes, etc. Everywhere I have gone the breakfasts seem really greasy and just rushed through.
If I am at a diner or restaurant in the early morning w/ friends or family I will most likely order a sandwich instead.
