EMP tasting menu is back?
We didn't choose any specific courses and left it to them to decide. They did ask if there's anything we were allergic to. Based on that, they served us the above.
EMP tasting menu is back?
Did it two weeks ago, this is what was on the menu. It was 4 hours of eating bliss:
The small dishes:
Chive breads with Chicken Broth
Marshmellows with Goat Cheese Lollipop
Hamachi + Scallops
An egg with sturgeon caviar + Mushrooms
The Main Dishes:
Foie Gras Terraine
Langostine
Cauliflower
John Dory
Sou vide & roasted Squab
Dessert
Sorbet
Chocolate
Petit Fours

Eats before or after Coldplay show at MSG
Mooncake Foods - 30th between 7th & 8th (Closer to 8th than 7th). Miso Glazed Salmon. Yum. Cheap too. Everything under $9 bucks except for daily special. Same menu as their branch in Soho.

Lucky 8 -- Sunset Park Cantonese
There are about ten 4 seat tables and three 8 seat tables upstairs. A few more tables downstairs. It's not a big place.
How was the pork maw? The last time I had it here, it was a bit tough to eat.

While I didnt order it, there was a Wild Boar entree @ Lonesome Dover last Thursday.
Ginza Hibachi Park Slope
Had dinner @ Ginza tonight on 2nd and 5th. Ordered the Filet Mignon, Tuna & Lobster hibachi. Unlike other hibachi places, they didnt overdo it with the sauces so that you are not eating teriyaki sauce. That's a good thing.
The fried rice with the hibachi was outstanding. I would go back. They dont have a liquor license yet.
Dim Sum on Linden Place, Flushing
The dim sum is okay @ Linden Place. Its more expensive than Gum Fong in Flushing. I think the pricing has to do with the fact that their renovation is over the top tacky. A lot of european themes that has no coherency.
The address is 34-20 Linden Place. The restaurant looks like a warehouse and its on a stretch of the block that has a bunch of auto repair shops.

World Tong - Any Change?
Dropped by World Tong this afternoon, and apparently World Tong is closed for the next few days. Havent checked the NYC Health site yet, but apparently its due to health code violation..
