Live and Freshly Killed Chickens at King Poultry & Produce in San Francisco Chinatown

Melanie.- wondering if I will be able to get one of these chickens there. I love fresh chickens, but I have live chicken phobia. I'm really afraid of the feathers (please don't laugh!!) so I can never get near these live chicken stores. I'm also veery scared of picking up a bag that has the head attached. Advise?

Trendy, good food for out of town guest from Hong Kong

I have a sister in law that loves good food and a father in law that's coming to Los Angeles, and we live in sf and will be joining them.

What are some really good but not expense account type restaurant that we can take them to enjoy that we do better than Hong Kong? Obviously not the Hong Kong food. We will be staying in Pasadena but okay to go to 45 min to an hour away.

Suggestions?

St Remy/Avignon and French Riviera on budget

Hi, I will be in the French Riviera staying in nice (work) and last 2 days in cannes then head to st remy as our base.

Would love to see if you have any recommendations for good food that will not break my bank? Under 50euro per person?
We will have a car in st remy but not in nice/cannes.

Specifically a dinner in cannes or close by since my husband will be arriving in nice and our hotel is in cannes before we head out the next morning, thank you!!!

Dinner in Cannes or surrounding area

My DH and I will be spending a short vacation in Provence area. I will be in Nice a week before for work, so will be meeting with DH at Nice for a night before training over to Avignon.

His flight will land at 3pm in Nice. We won't have a lot of time and I dont want to make this too rush. We will be staying at Cannes (not changeable, staying with points at Hyatt).

Given that, where should we go for dinner? I'm thinking either Villefrance, or Eze?
Any specific restaurant? Does not need to be fancy

Thanks!

Rendondo beach live sea urchin

I fully expected it to be not so good based on the review here that the quality of sea urchin is not dictated by "live". I must have either so so taste or got really lucky, the one I got was very sweet, and tasty!

New Trader Joe's Yea/Nay Thread - 2nd Quarter 2011 [old]

I agree. I have a high tolerance for spicy food too. This green papaya salad has bits of it that is beyond hot, and it was pretty disgusting too. I want to like it so bad, I'm a green papaya salad lover, but I just cannot eat this. :(

Prima Taste Chili Crab Packet(urgent in search of)

Does anyone know where I can find this packet in the bay area. It comes in a box, and they usually sell it at Ranch 99 Foster city, but all out of stock. I need it for this weekend.
Thanks!

Restaurant.com question (use in either Shiok or Sumiya)

Anyone with trouble using the gift certs in these places? Also, I bought the certificates without specifying which restaurants, I'm a bit confused how to use these? Do i have to redeem them for a particular restaurant online first or can I just use these certificates printing them out?

Suggestions for my one day meal in Tokyo?

I've been to Tokyo many many times, I will only be going there for a short 2 day lay over (really just 1.5 days). My first night arrival will be around 8:30pm, by the time I get to shibuya (where my hotel is) will be 10:30 or so, so late night dinner will be great. I don't know if shibuya has any yata(street food stall?) near the station?

Things that I've tried in Japan that I love: Yakitori in a neighborhood near roppongi, i can't remember the english name, but it's a hole in the wall place. Umenohana (wonderful experience, got private room, so yummy), tonkatsu (one of those must go places, the name escaped me, it's in meguro. Sushi Dai in Tsukiji.
Motsunabe in ebisu.

I also tried Whale, I wasn't too thrilled about eating that, but my Japanese friend took me there as a surprised... long story...

I'm traveling alone, so some nabe places that require minimum 2 order I will not be able to go. Any suggestions?

Since I've been there many times and my limited time, I will only be staying in certain areas for photography/meals/shopping.
Shibuya,
shinjuku
Asakusa
Harajuku/omotesando/aoyama

Will only venture out to tsukiji if I can get up early, since I've already been there, don't want to waste precious time.
Any suggestions welcome!!

$200 to spend, where to go?

My boss gave me a xmas present of $200 to spend with my significant other for dinner. If it goes over, I can pay out of pocket to cover.
I'm thinking of Gary Dankos, any other suggestions?

Late night Korea Restaurant in Santa Clara?

I'm taking my sister in law out to dinner tonight after 9;30pm, which is the best korean place in Santa Clara?
I heard Korea House changed owners... they were our favorite. :(
