Looking to do a group of 8-10 people for a Christmas Party in Korea Town for BBQ in December. Would like it to be classy and have a great scene with full bar (want to get the Christmas Party drink on). Food quality could be lowered for a better time/scene (sorry foodies). I have never done the Korea Town BBQ scene and know nothing about it at all (don’t want to get stuck in a Chinatown esque dive like Hop Kee all though I do love that place). Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks CHers...

Paulie Gee's Pizza - THE SIZE

Made the trek to Paulie Gee's Pizza the other night and was extremely delighted with the product itself, service from nice young lady from Cali and the owner schmoozing and BSing with us. The only problem I have with these artisan type pizzeria’s is the size. Being a NYC New Yorker I am used to the regular size pie/slice not these small individual pies. I am not complaining on price for quantity for I would gladly pay more for a larger pie. Does any agree or disagree? I feel like I am eating a kiddie size pizza. Just to note and this is not a shill, I am extremely happy in every facet with Mark @ Lucali's size pies.

Cocktails at Adour Alain Ducasse?

Why not call and see if there is a corking fee? You could be a 50-75 bottle and possible pay a $25-$35 fee and still would be way way way ahead of the game.

All I Want To Do Is Eat Beef Jerky This Weekend...

Ok seeing the Korean Jerky in NYT this week has gotten me siked to search the city for the best Beef Jerky around. It seems to be pretty pricey @ 7.99-9.99 for two ounces = up to 79.84 a pound (AHHHHH). No Slim Jims or pre packed crap will do. What is in your opinions the best quality, meaty and flavorful homemade artisanal (ha) jerky around?

Who Has The Best Christmas Panettone in The Boroughs?

Ok my 88 year old (soon to be 89) Grandfather has been buying panettone on Bleecker Street in Manhattan his whole life, he goes to either Bruno's (no longer there, now in Staten Island where he lives) and or Rocco's. As the years goes by he is getting crabbier and keeps saying "it’s not the way it used to be", he is done with both Rocco’s & Bruno’s. He is looking for an authentic dense, fruit filled and moist Genovese style (not Milanese) Panettone. No box suggestions please either. I will travel with him wherever. HELP!!!

Looking For The Best Plucking Duck in NYC

Off with my head if I missed this already but I am looking for the best Peking Duck in NYC, you know, one of those crispy oil dripping golden beacons of flavor. I don’t care if you think its Daniel's Duck Ala Press or some dumpy whole in the wall MSG Shack. Post away people, I am salivating already….(post the price if you know it)

Who has better fried chicken -- Redhead or Egg?

I never head Redhead but had Egg numerous times. Its amazingly crispy and moist. Better yet its BYOB and I think $15 bucks. One order can feed two easily. If you really want your own portion still split one and order a second when close to being finsihed with the first that way the next one is hot. Everything at Egg rocks...

Ok people I did what I felt was almost the hopeless and expensive task of getting tickets to the NYC FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL BURGER BASH in Brooklyn Friday night...If you have been under a rock here it is:

NOW...I am surprising my girlie with the tickets and she is a stickler on dressing to the occasion, what the heck do I tell her to wear? I mean its a "Burger" event, jeans and sneakers come to mind but then again its should be celeb studded being the Marquee Event of the whole festival. Should I dust off the Brioni sports coat and cufflinks...HELPPPPPPP!!!

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated...I will update this post after the event on what we wore with pics and all if anyone cares...

Hi Folks, new to CHOWHOUND and see this has been a topic before but not as of late. Was wondering what are your favorite BYOB places in the NYC. I am looking for all quality here not dumpy takeout restaurants. Two of my personal favorites are:

575 Henry St
(between Carroll St & Summit St)
Brooklyn, NY 11231
(718) 858-4086

135 N. 5th St
Brooklyn, NY 11211
nr. Bedford Ave.

Look forward to all your recommendations…
