Musha Santa Monica review w/ photos

Was at Musha last night (after an afternoon of surfing) and the pork belly is TO DIE FOR! As are the Clams and the Tofu French Fries. Awesome discovery!!!

Will I be rushed at The Orchard?

Ate at Orchard last night - had a 9pm reservation but ended up arriving early and getting a "no show" table at 8:30. I was REALLY impressed with this restaurant's food but the service was not up to snuff. There were a lot of inexperienced servers working the room - at one point the woman who hung up our coats offered to take our dessert order! But at no point did i feel rushed or forced to decide/order.

I think this restaurant is one of the L.E.S.'s gems.

We just had brunch there (five adults and a 3 year old) and although the price was reasonable ($38/person) the food was hit or miss. The shellfish soup was great, the salads were not. The steak was tasty, the cod fish wasn't. The flourless chocolate cake was so so, the flan was nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal were the sampler appetizers - shrimp tempura, tuna sushi and mushroom raviolli. Too bad we didn't have a choice about ordering those.

We'll probably head back (15 minutes from the UWS is worth the trip) and try Dylans sushi bar and/or the restaurant at night. If anything, the place brings much needed love to Yonkers!

Hudson River Cafe

Don't know if it has opened for food yet (I think they are serving drinks already) but when it does, please post your thoughts of this 131st/Riverside restaurant.

Super helpful, folks, thanks! I only wish the search-function of Chow was better seeing I'm sure there are TONS of the same questions that come up over and over again.

Top 3 steakhouses in Manhattan

But what about the review of Penthouse Executive Club for steaks in the NYTimes last week? I suppose if you want good steak and a "view" it can't be beat. But seriously, how are the steaks there?

Also, my office is on 50th/6th ("steakhouse village") but which are the best around that area?

Meatball Parm Nirvana

I worked near Manganaro's Heroboy and especially liked the half chix-parm, half eggplant-parm hero's. But it may have been the proximity rather than taste that I loved the best. Thoughts?

Anyone been to Bolo recently?

Went two nights before Thanksgiving. Was expecting a more crowded, livelier atmosphere, but found the place only 1/4 full.

Food is inventive, but doesn't blow anyone away. The steak is very good, the tapas aps are tasty but tiny and the drinks are just eh. Can't say I'd recommend this place.

Carve on 8th - Report

Just had the Thanksgiving on a roll...FUN and quite tasty. Not too heavy on mayo (as mentioned) but just the right amount of stuffing and granberry, and of course turkey.

I'm impressed that a place finally realized that sandwiches are art.

Ted's Montana Grill [moved from General Topics]

One just opened across from my office - Time-Life Building, Rockefeller Center West - and already they are handing out $5-off coupons. Each time I walk by, it's empty, but given that it's Ted Turner flipping the bill for rent, I guess it's here to stay.

Where are the best wings in NYC

It's not in New York City, but the best "buffalo" wings are at CANDLELIGHT INN on Central Ave in Scarsdale.

Long link, but says it all:

Sobre is phenominal - they have catered my parties before (many yuppies who were suprised not to find baked brie, etc.) Look out for it, or come on up and try!
