What MUST we add?

We are also going to be in New Orleans this Thurs - Sun and always do Friday lunch at Commander's. Unfortunately, they are not taking reservations for Friday the 28th due to a private function. We are going to try Galatoire's instead, looks like we need to arrive early based on everything I have ever read on the boards. Can't wait!

Cajun Stuffed Pistolettes

I second Bergeron's, their pistolettes, crawfish pies and boudin balls are excellent. Just returned yesterday from your beautiful city, our only regret was that Bergeron's was closed on Sunday when we drove in and since we left Thanksgiving morning, we assumed they would be closed then too. We finally had lunch at Commander's, it was definitely a great experience! We love New Orleans and try to visit at least once a year. We have had so many great dining experiences, thanks to Chowhound!

Cajun Market on I-10 with boudin balls?

We are headed to New Orleans again this summer (haven't been since 2005) and my husband and I have very fond memories of a Cajun Meat Market that was off of I-10 somewhere between Layfayette and New Orleans. They had GREAT boudin balls and crawfish pies and although we bought several items for relatives back home in Central Texas, we could not stay out of them and not a single thing made it back home!

The market was not large or fancy, and there was a pretty big sign on the Interstate that directed us to it, but we want to make sure we don't miss it! Does this ring a bell with anyone? I think it was located in a small town, but besides the wonderful food, that is about all we remember. Help is appreciated!
