Bakery and Apple Picking and Vineyards

My husband and I are looking to take a drive up North for some good breakfast at a bakery (muffins; scones; etc.) and then go apple picking and possibly to a winery. Any ideas?

Best Muffin

I am in search of the best muffin in the City. I prefer homemade muffins (the opposite of Crumbs and street vendors) that light and airy; not greasy. For example, my favorite muffin is the chocolate sourcream muffin at Mary's Marvelous in Amagansett, NY.

La Table de Joël Robuchon Mix Up

Thank you for your advice. I just called the hotel and asked them if they could call the restaurant.
Our dinner is for next Friday. I will look into both of your suggestions right now.

La Table de Joël Robuchon Mix Up

I called La Table to confirm my reservation and they have no record of it. Although they are going to call me back and see if they can fit me in for a Friday evening reservation, I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for a memorable enjoyable anniversary dinner.

Thank you.

Dinner over 4 Nights in Paris

My husband and I are traveling from New York City to Paris for four nights. As we are celebrating our first year anniversary, we would like to attend one lavish dinner and then three enjoyable, but more moderately priced meals ($50 - $150 - I know a wide range in price).

Our tastes are simplistic - that is, we enjoy well prepared food, friendly service and good drinks. In particular, we like seafood, shellfish, steak, homemade pastas and thoughful sauces. That being said, we are not adventurous eaters and tend to steer clear of game, rabbit and liver. Additionally, my husband would like to have traditional French food like Beef bourgenon, steak frites (traditional for Americas).

So far we have considered the following restaurants.
High End:
Le Table at Joel Rubuchon
Dominique Bouchet

Moderate:
Aux Lyonnais
Chez Jean
Goumard
Benoit
Ze Kitchen

Thoughts....

Thank you.

Loire Valley Restaurant and Winery recommendations?

A bit off the board topic, but where do you all recommend staying in the Loire Valley? We, too, will be traveling there next week.

Thanks,

The Best of Paris

Where would you recommend staying/eating in Tours? Also, if you had to choose between Tours or Reims which would you choose?

Montauk Dinner - Special Occasion during Restaurant Week

We will be in town on March 26th. Is Surf Lodge and Dan's closed? What about the lobster shacks?

Thank you for the feedback on Inlet. What is the dress code? Also, I heard good things about Red Brasserie and East by Northeast. Any comments.

Montauk Dinner - Special Occasion during Restaurant Week

My husband and I are traveling to the Montauk Yacht Club for our first anniversary. We are looking for nice dining experience, where we can enjoy good drinks, good service and excellent food in a fun atmosphere. Although we are not trendy by any means, we aren't looking for a fish shack experience; something more formal. Our dining preferences include white fish, lobster, shellfish and sushi.

On another note, we know it is restaurant week in the Hamptons so any preferences of those choices are welcome.

Lastly, we hear that Robbin Haas has taken over the restaurant located in our hotel. Any word on the menu and/or reviews of the restaurant.

Craft - What to Order?

I am trying to talk my husband away from the sirloin and toward the short ribs.

Craft - What to Order?

I was thinking the Diver Scallops. There are two scallop options on the menu so not sure which ones.
Any thoughts on the steaks?

Craft - What to Order?

I will be dining this evening at Craft with my husband.
Any favorite dishes?
Also,
Wondering if the 28 day aged sirlion is any good?
How's the 30-Day Dry-Aged Côte du Boeuf for two?
What's your favorite starchy side?
Any word on the pastas?
And finally, how's the wine by the glass/cocktails?

Thanks!

Which to choose...

I am taking my husband out for his 31st birthday. Here is a bit of background - we expect fantastic service and thoughtfully prepared food. As a younger couple, we enjoy a lively atmosphere and generally order wines by the glass as I only drink white wine. Although my husband is fond of the rib eye, we are both fans of white fish and I frequently eat more sides than protein. One more note, my husband has quite an appetite so portion size is somewhat important.

Which would you choose:
Craft
Gotham Bar and Grill
Fishtail
DB Bistro Moderne

Or, are there any other thoughts....

Cut vs. SW Steakhouse

My husband and I will be traveling to Vegas this weekend and cannot decide between Cut and SW steakhouse. We are 30 year old couple, who loves great food and great service. At a steakhouse, my husband generally ordered the rib eye and I order the filet. For sides,we like starches. In terms of drinks, we generally order wine by the glass Any thoughts...

Delmonico vs. SW Steakhouse

In July, my husband and I will be traveling to Vegas for my annual conference. For the past few years, we have dined at Delmonico and consider it to be one of the best steakhouse we have ever attending...and as NYCers that is quite an accomplishment. This year, we thought we would venture out and try SW Steakhouse. However, I am not sure that I will be as pleased. Can anyone offer some thoughts?

Thanks!

Mooo vs. KO Prime

We are debating between Mooo or KO Prime. We are a 30 something married couple, who like great food, great service and great drinks. My husband is a fan of rib-eyes and I like the filet or seafood and great potato or polenta sides. Thoughts...

If You Had to Choose...

Although this is an order thread, we are setting out for our trip tomorrow and still have yet to decided among Sorellina, Via Matta, Mama Maria and Prezza. Plus, we have now throw Mistral into the mix - ugh!!!
Not to be pest, but if were choosing on the following criteria, which would you pick:
1. Fun, lively atmosphere with a good bar scene
2. Great homemade pasta or fresh fish dishes
3. Good value (portion to price - my husband is a former Arena football player so he eats big!)
Thank you.

Birthday Dinner

On Friday, my husband and I will be traveling from NYC to Boston to celebrate my 28th birthday. We are still exploring options for dinner on Friday. It seems that we would like to go to a Northern Italian restaurant where pasta is the star. Specifically, we enjoy fresh pasta and seafood dishes. In addition, we enjoy good service where we do not feel rushed and a fun, lively atmosphere - we tend to enjoy getting a drink at the bar beforehand. Although we will be staying in Boston Common area, we are willing to travel within Boston if it is worthwhile.

What is the best restaurant in MGM Las Vegas?

It depends on what you are looking for and your budget. If you are looking for lower cost fare in a fun atmosphere, Nobhill can not be beat. It is a Michael Mina establishment. Seablue is also in MGM, but I have yet to dine there.

Best Champagne Cocktail

As I am from NYC and unfamiliar with Boston, I just googled Hungry i and it appears that they don't have a website.

Best Champagne Cocktail

The name is interesting. What is in it besides champagne?
Also, wondering how dinner is at Teatro or is it better just for a drink? We were thinking of dining either at Sorrelina or Prezza.

Best Champagne Cocktail

Generally, I prefer champagne cocktails that are made with miminal "hard" alcohol and merely have fruit-type flavoring, such as mango or passion fruit. I also like cocktails with sparkling wine in it.
