Need some amazing recs for my office holiday party!

Hi all-

Since I've had such good luck previously, I'm reaching out once again. I need to start planning my office holiday party and I need recs for a venue that will fit up to 70 people in peninsula/southbay area. I'm trying to book a new place; Evvia (PA), Pampas (PA) are out since they've been previously. Looking for High end new American, or eclectic ethnic cuisine. Budget is $100/head. I was looking at All Spice in San Mateo but too bad they can't accomodate our size. I've got Cascal (MV) on my list and possibly Tamarine in PA, but hoping to add a few more. Thanks so much in advance.

Dumpling Party for my office

We decided to go with Tsingtao Taste and they were awesome! Prices were totally reasonable. We got 4 varieties: veggie, fish, house special (w/ pork and shrimp), and pork and napa cabbage. My office was stoked and I came out the hero. Thanks so much to all for the recs.

Dumpling Party for my office

Definitely chinese dumplings. I was hoping for a place that can cater dumplings. Our office doesn't have a stove to cook frozen dumplings and I think microwaving dumplings may fail miserably.

Dumpling Party for my office

Hi CHers-

I want to throw a dumpling party for my next office happy hour in Mountain View. Any good leads on nearby places that can cater a variety of excellent dumplings? Doesn't have to be a restaurant either, if you know of someone that is a dumpling-making god/goddess, please let me know.

Thanks so much,

yb

Need help with my company offsite!

Hi Chow Hounders-

I need some serious help choosing a happy hour place for my company's offsite. I have most of the day planned except for the finale. I am looking for a cute, swank lively spot that wil hold 30 of us and have a full bar and even more importantly amazing food. We're looking to put up our feet, have a light meal and catch up on the day's events. Budget is fairly large-will scale accordingly depending on venue. Open to all cuisines. I was looking at Zero Zero which has an attractive menu but will not accommodate a party of our size.

'Hounders I'm relying on all your suggestions. My office is full of foodies, please don't let me down! My event is less than 1 month away...yikes!

Help! Need chinese or japanese dinner rec for turkey day

I was thinking of Seafood Harbour as I had the most amazing dim sum there a few months back but did not know anything about dinner. Can you recommend any must try dishes?

Help! Need chinese or japanese dinner rec for turkey day

Hello Hounders-

We're doing thanksgiving dinner out this year and in need of a good chinese or japanese restaurant. We're traveling from the west side with toddlers so within 20-25 miles would be great. It'll be 7 of us in need a place with a mix of fantastic seafood and meat, noodles and dumplings for the kids. None of us speak or read chinese or japanese and we have palates that gear toward standard fare but done well and no spicy options. Price range can be $25-$50 pp. Looking for a nice restaurant that will be noisy, busy, and kid friendly. Please no dives or holes in the walls Also, if we can make reservations awesome! Thanks so much in advance for your time.

Help need a dim sum restaurant rec

Thanks so much to all for the wealth of helpful information. Your responses have done wonders to quell the anxiety of dining out with my toddler. It's down to Elite or Seafood Harbour. Either way, I have a hunch it'll be wonderful. Gratitude all around.

Help need a dim sum restaurant rec

Hi exilekiss-

Thanks so much for the rec. I can definitely budge on price. Can you give me an idea of average price per dish is at Sea Harbour? And with an antsy, impatient toddler-how long does it typically take for food to come out? Also any idea of parking there?

Help need a dim sum restaurant rec

Hi Hounders-

I'm planning on taking my 3 year old this weekend to Monterey Park for some great dim sum. I heard great things about Elite restaurant but it would only be just the 2 of us, so not sure if it appropriate for us to get the full breadth of experience as we can't really order much ( and I'm sure doggie bags are faux pas.) I'm looking for a place where the menu is in english or has pictures and price range is about $2 per dish. Also definitely helpful, if the place serves the food quick, but despite my criteria, I don't want recs to skimp out on quality. Is it perhaps better that I take her to a take out place that has seating? Ambiance is not so important to me as long as it's relatively clean looking and the food must be good, great would even better. Would venture to Alhambra and SGV as well.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi-

I am looking for Sclafani canned crushed tomatoes and just came across your posting-have you found place that sells them-preferably in west LA?
