If you are in Albany Park, you can actually skip the Argyle area. A few places closer to you I'd say are better than the places in Argyle. (I live in Andersonville, walking distance to Argyle, and I still will venture out to these places)

For Banh Mi: I agree with Nhu Lan bakery, 2612 W Lawrence.
For pho and the rest: Hoanh Long. 6144 N. Lincoln Ave

I hope they know that Albany park is the Korean food center of Chicago. Just wonder around Lawrence, or Lincoln, and find a place, I have yet to be disappointed. I have had great meals at San Chae. 3737 W Lawrence, and So Gong Dong Tofu house, at 3307 W Bryn Mawr.

affordable north end, or go to other neighborhood?

thanks for the responses, I'll look into those places for sure. I was probably referring to red sauce places, but, really, the inexpensive part is more important. Basically, under 20 bucks (most of us are grad students). I imagine if I just walked around, I would fine some totally fine places. But, it seemed the most recommended places on this board, like Taranta were more expensive, so i figured I'd get some tips.

affordable north end, or go to other neighborhood?

So, I'm in town this weekend for a conference, and want to go get some italian. Straight up/traditional is fine with me, I love a good fruitti di mare. of course my instinct is to go the the north end, but, it appears all the talked about places are on the upscale side. Is there a good affordable place in the north endl? or for that should I go to a place like Vinny's at Night or Pescatore in Somerville?
We won't have cars, so places by the T would be best.
thanks

Recommendations for post concert drinks - Aragon Ballroom

"in fine spirits" in Andersonville has an extensive cocktail list. it's not a terrible walk, depending on weather. as suggested earlier, it would be a very quick cab.

Chowhound Assignment:Go A Place Never Reviewed On This Board Part II

This is an old post, so maybe no one cares anymore, but Mi Ranchito is not just for breakfast tacos. It has the best mole I've had in Austin. Also, their pork in red sauce is really good. And each plate is plentiful, and only 6 bucks. They also have a unique selection of salsas to try, including a peanut salsa, unlike anything else I've had at a mexican place. I'd say, just skip the flautas

Ye Chon in Annandale

so, I am visiting dc next week for a conference at the omni, and i keep reading about annandale for korean. how can i got there from touristland downtown?
if it's a hastle, is there any korean worth getting that's more accessible ?

India Kitchen on E. Riverside

Has anyone been to India Kitchen on E. Riverside and/or used them to cater?

It would be great to not have to drive up to Bombay Express or Swad for a South-Sider like me to get good Indian.
