Suggestions for family visit.

Please help with restaurant suggestions for family visit to DC area. Is Zaytanya doable?

Village Whiskey

Had the burger, saturday night. It was delicious. It's all home made, including the bun!
All the pickles are home made, the sauce, the ketchup, quite an effort.
Only negative, the place is small, don't expect to get a table without a long wait. we ate at the bar despite waiting one hour.

Staying at the Ritz carlton-reccomendations

We're a family with young kids, but enjoy good simple food, ecclectic, healthy.

Would love to read local Palm Beach, Lake Worth, BB, reccomendations for dinner. We'll be staying in the hotel, but will be renting a car. Thanks in advance.

A La Maison - BYOB - Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore

went for dinner last saturday night and had a great meal.
Firstly, i love the decor. Our waiter was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable, and is French.
meal was very good and very generous sized dishes.
We had the french onion soup, and grilled vegetables with goat cheese to start.
And the beef short ribs and lamb with white beans.
huge portions and very tasty. ony had room for cappucino for desert, check out the espresso machine.
bill came to $80

Melograno, Philadelphia

I would like to add another highly favorable experience. Ate at Melograno this last Sat night and had delicious meal. Starters included the pan fried chicken liver and artichoke arugala salad, main dishes were a suberb black cod dish and muchroom pasta dish. no room for desert though.

Belsize Park/Hampstead

I''ll be in London this week and need suggestions for a restaurant where i could take my son, who's 6 years old to dinner near BP and Hamstead.
Are there any good pubs nearby?
I look forward to your reccomendations. Thanks

Meme

My wife and I, for that matter, prefer our fish cooked all the way through. i guess, we should specify that in future, but it's something we both agree on and as I said prefer. Nuf said.

Meme

My wife and I ate there Sat night and I had the best steak, the Wagyu skirt, in a very long time. My wife had the catch of the day, swordfish which was OK, had to be sent back because it was raw in the center. That's always off puting to me as a diner, when fish isn't properly prepared.
All in all, a nice addition to Philly BYOB circuit.

Best steak restaurant on the Main Line?

Had the Porterhouse again last night and it was great.
i really rate the steak here as high as any in the region
Sommelier was spot on with his reccomendation for the wine.
Any comments?

Philadelphia pub and kitchen

We were ther sat night and had a great time and good meal.
the beer selection is excellent, I had a good Guiness.
The food is overall good too. Had the burger which was very tastey. My fellow guests had the schnitzel which was a huge portion and someone had the skate.
All told, it was good, service was attentive and the price point is quite acceptable

villanova u.

The maia burger is great, also the market there was excellent too.

Looking for a good new BYOB

Osteria

I would like to comment on our meal last night.
this was my 3rd visit.
Three of us ate there and had an overall good experience except for my main dish, the rib eye.
It wasn't the meat, which was cooked to perfection, but the mustard seed on top, which was positively inedible.
I like mustards, but this tasted very bitter and almost "poisonous".
i brought it to the attention of a waiter, who kind of shrugged and said" Oh" and left it at that.
Has anyone else had this dish and tasted the mustard seed on top? yuch!

The rest of the meal was really quite good. The pannoccia pizza was great, the chicken liver pasta superb as well as the octpus dish.
Another gripe was that despite asking for vegetarian antipasta, I was brought out antipasta intermixed with diced prosciutto, which would be quite disconcerting for a strict vegetarian or someone with reigious eating restictions
my dinner mate had the rabbit dish, which he said was wonderful and the ribeye was really tasty but for the aforementioned mustard seed.

Sommelier choices for wine were spoton and great.
let me know some of your recent experiences there or opinions on my posting.

Camden yards

Can anyone recommend eats in Camden Yards?

Cork & Kinsale - what's good?

We were in Kinsale last week, fishy fishy was open till 9 several days a week
They don't take bookings and it does get crowded, but we only waited about 20 minutes or so, had a drink at the bar.
The food is excellent, I had the hake, cooked perfectly , served over a bed of tomato rissoto.
Also the salad was great.
Its a must, if in Kinsale.
its cash only!!!!!!!!!!!

Trader Joe's like store in Dublin Ireland???

I am American and got back from Dublin
Try Marks and Spencer, you'll find some amazing food there,
Fallon and Byrne is really really good too.

Boston 'Hound in Ireland

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to update our finds, on a recent road trip through the southwest of ireland.
Firstly had a delicious lunch at farmgate, in Midleton, on the N25 road between Waterford and Cork.
Its is full of great home made treats and deli goods, I had the smoke salmon sandwich and a local cheese plate, my wife had grilled vegetable paninni.
Cakes and scones looked great.
Another place was Jam in Kinemare, also in Killarney, great for tea and scones or lunch.
Dinner at Fishy Fishy in Kinsale was amazing, highly recommended, as was Chapter fourty in Killarney. The latter is a modern place with excellent huge dishes, I had seabass and my wife had the pasta.
Great service too. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE.

coffee

Order some Segefredo online, its my favorite, Also ILLY is great too, esp the dark roast

Main Line Bar/Lounge

Third for Maia, you're best bet, great bar and HDTVs

Lunch near Barnes

Aldars bistro is good, its mediterranean food and its very close by. Manayunkl is worth a visit and a stroll too.

Maia

Recently returned for dinner in the upstairs, main restaurant.
The first thing to strike me was the sure size of the place, with mutiple rooms, but we ate in the main dining area.
The decor is really amazing and the place ws practically full on a midweek wed night.
We started with all the raw fish starters, there were five of them including oysters, smoked tuna, smoked salmon, both house smoked, and lemon cured striped bass, and another dish I forget,.
Anyway all of these were delicious, along with the rolls.
They have an awsome selection of beers on tap and in the bottle, I had the Gaffel kolsch and sampled the Troegs IPA.
We got a bottle of superb spanish red wine.
Main course, we all had the Colorado Ridge 8oz strip steak, with Kobe beef short ribs, really delicious and very tender meat.
Desert was a semolina tartlet , the others had icecream and a Port.
Illy coffe drinks are offered.

The meal was excellent and I would like to go back to try one of the several fish choices on offer or the lamb dish.
