for consistent upscale food in a casual setting I recommend Sanppers. It is located around 10 blocks from the don
Lousy Experience at Home Wine Kitchen, St. Louis
I had read so many good reviews and comments, I had to visit the restaurant. I also felt disappointed with the quality of the food and the price charged. While the service was good, we felt the food was not up to the reviews.
Talk Sites
When you sub-divided all the regions....it watered down the level of conversation. Its not working

What is the best seafood restaurant in Tampa Bay area?
While Salt Rock is a fun upscale restaurant, it certainly is not a good culinary restaurant.
Being close to the water we lack a top rated seafood restaurant. Cafe Ponte would be my recommendation

Fresh seafood in the St. Pete area.
2 places that I are excellent, Reef's fresh fish in Indian Beach and Shaners Land and Sea in Pas-a grille. They have great line catch norwegian salmon, dover sole filets from boston, fresh local red snapper and fresh red and black grouper
Near the Don?
2 nice restaurants very close is Snappers and Mad Fish, moderate prices mid 20's Plenty of options close to the Don. Enjoy the great beach and area

Since you will be moving to U City go to Mai Lee for Vietnamese. It is far superior and the original vietnamese in St. Louis
St. Louis/U. City: Recs. re Chinese Noodle Cafe
Mai Lee a fan favorite and the king of vietnamese in St. Louis most likely is staying at its current location. Things can change but that is the latest

Sushi-quality fish in St. Louis
I make sushi all the time but don't trust the nornal markets. I have been lucky to know a wholesaler who provides fish to restaurants. My best suggestion is to go to Bob's Seafood located 170 and Olive. They provide many restuarants and at least you know the how fresh the fish is
Five questions about food in St. Pete's - bakery, barbecue, soul food, sushi & espresso
31st and Central has a great Jamaican carry out, mazzorro's Italian market for great bread, Sushi is average. Downtown has a great tapas restaurant named " cerviche" that has good cerviche
ISO Great dining in St. Pete's Beach
I think the sister restaurant is call Mad Fish....Sanpper is fun and good food. If you want to stay in St. Pete Beach , you cna't go wrong with Snappers
The New Balaban's
Went to Balabans with great expectations from an special restaurant of the past. Could they rekindle the atmosphere and food from the past. They did not pass. The food was average at best. Service was ok, but was told to put our orders in now since the kitchen was running behind. First mistake !!! Portions were small with the morel appetizer ( maybe 3 morels) and the foie gras was a size of 2 quarters and thin for $14.00 The main courses were not memorable.Saturday night no one was at the bar. It used to be a very busy bar with lots of action. The new owners have made a calculated mistake in the way the run the restaurant. I will be interested to see how others respond. The one good point , the place was clean with much of the past still there.
