Cafe con Leche and MediaLunas? We have just returned from Buenos Aires and LOVED the Cafe con Leche and Medialunas there.....any recommendations for where to get something as similar as possible in Toronto (prefer downtown core but are willing to drive if necessary!) |

Went to La Maquette for a birthday celebration. Service is the worst I have ever experienced. We had to flag someone down for everything-even to order initially. The food was okay, but way overpriced for what it was. When we spoke to the manager about our dissatisfaction she apologized but did not offer to do anything about it (granted we did not ask for any sort of compensation either). Way to pricey for very terrible service (actually no service at all) and very mediocre food. Don't go to La Maquette. ----- |

I live in the downtown core and need to buy steaks for 6 people for a party at home (barbque). I would like really good ones-where should I go and what cut do you like for barbquing? |

I agree the attitude at many Loblaws stores is very poor. I especially find it annoying that with their high prices they no longer bag your groceries especially if you bring your own bags. Why did stores switch over to expecting customers to bring their own bags AND bag their own groceries at the same time? There is no reason why they can not continue to bag your groceries for you just because you brought your own bags. We have just returned from the US where they always bag your groceries and give you 5 cents BACK if you brought your own bags-Now we are talking! BTW did you notice the bags are now 6 cents with the HST? |

Where to get Chrismas Cake (Fruitcake) in Toronto Usually I make my own fruitcake for the season, but this year I have no time and need to buy one. I prefer dark cake with lots of fruit-I checked out Loblaws but didn't see any that looked anywhere close to homemade. Any suggestions as to where to get one? Downtown Toronto would be preferred, but I am prepared to go anywhere in the city! |

so...I just figured a recent post would be appreciated I went to Terroni's on Queen W. last night with friends. The line was out the door, but we decided to wait. It was definitely worth it! great atmosphere, the service was pretty reasonable considering that it was soo busy. For those of you with ties to Kingston, we couldn't decide which was better, Woodenheads in Kingston or Terroni's, but either way this is definitely a good place for dinner with friends. |
