Can Bacon Ruin Your Unseasoned Carbon-Steel Pan?

If I am cooking bacon to eat and present on it's own, I cook it in my oven on a cookie sheet at about 425 degrees. You get less lost in size, better presentation looks and better control of doneness. I rarely cook it in a fry pan, accept as part of another dish. Then in stainless for the most part.

I have used these magnets for years, to me they are the best and safest answer. I have a rather large set of knifes, in number and size. All of them hang in plain sight, makes it easy to always grab what you are looking for the first time and saves what little kitchen space I have for prep work.

Why boil brats?

I actually add chili spices, onions and garlic to the beer. I prefer a darker beer and love to use guinness. Have even used the left over poaching liquid as the base for a brat & cheese soup... had extra brats left over...
