New Vietnamese place in Ridgewood
Just saw the review of Mekong Grill. I'll try it. Sorry for reposting.
New Vietnamese place in Ridgewood
Anyone tried it? I went in last weekend but no take-out menus printed yet (bad omen??).
Why Can't We Get Convenient, Reasonably Priced Thai Food in Bergen County?
I had lunch at Wondees yesterday. Best crispy duck yum ever. Park in Municipal parking and count your blessings.

Best Food in Bergen Co, NJ
Turvino's has the worst pizza I have ever had in NJ. Disgrace.
Best pizza pie in Northern NJ(Bergen)
Turvino's has the worst pizza I have ever had in NJ. Wrong for so many reasons. Crust so rubbery my jaw hurt,. I don't see how they have the nerve to send it out. Underdone, too much disgusting cheese.
Peruvian recommendations in Northern NJ (Kearny/Harrison/East Newark/Paterson)?
Aji Limon in Clifton. You will see other posts. Exquisite ceviche. Nice service. Beautiful steak and tacu tacu
Authentic Mexican in northern NJ (Bergen County)
Cinco De Mayo--They have a small counter on Broadway in Hillsdale, and a sit-down place in Waldwick. Excellent food. Mole Poblano like abuelita makes. The place in Hillsdale does even more authenic sandwiches and things.
Roti @ Krazy Coconut in Fairlawn/Hillside ?
I am so bummed!1 Just got back from Krazy Coconut. We walked out without having eaten 1 hour and 25 minutes after placing our orders. No one was eating food even though the place was full. I had high expectations and that's just enough. No should have to wait that long. Also flourescent lights had me waiting to be waterboarded or something. No music--just hungry people waiting for a reality check.
Excellent Polish in the "Kielbasa Corridor"
One wouldn't usually describe pierogies as "light and fluffy", but they are here. Exquisite pierogies, amazing potato pancakes, nice beer selection and cocktails. I have a new fave. There was even a one-man band on Sat night. Can't wait to try the borscht on my next visit!

Japanese Tobiko Salad Recipe - help!!
Add some hijiki and a little slivered shiso to give it a kick. I try to put shiso in all Japanese salads.
Back from London
Just back from a great trip to London with my husband and kids (8 & 14). Here's some of the places we ate:
St. John Bread and Wine---fabulous. Great food and service. My top pick.
The Golden Hind - old style chippery. Nice puddings and cool area.
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese - historic pub with good food. Service very nice as well,
Up Market on Brick Lane (Sun. afternoons) - insanely crowded but lots of booths serving delicious international and British fare.
Borough Market - same as above. Foodie must do. Oysters are tops.
Frontline - Bad scene. Really - don't bother.
Fatoush - very fresh, authentic Middle Eastern in Middle Eastern neighborhood.
Belgo - fun. Good food and beer.
BYO in Britain??
I'm of to London soon and wondering if there is BYOB in the UK at establishments that don't serve alcohol.
Aji Limon, Clifton, NJ
I agree completely. Delicious great menu in a chic space. Kid friendly. Easy to park. Awesome ceviche.
Crepes on River Rd. in Fairlawn, NJ
Had a very disappointing Mother's Day Brunch at his new crepe place I'd been looking forward to trying. Charged $14 (!!) for a small sliver of the special (ie. not on menu) crepe of the day. Bizarre salad crepe. Very small portions and extremely slow service. Waited 40 minutes for the Gruyere "souffle crepe" which turned out to be a small ramekin with puffy eggs inside and no crepe in sight. An iced tea was $2 and served in a coffee mug. No bread or garnish with specials which were sloppily plated. Chef wearing a sleeveless shirt even in the dining room.
