Speed the Plow...Need to eat...
Going to a see SPEED THE PLOW on 47th and Broadway. 8pm show in a few weeks.
Need to take my parents to a restaurant in the area.
I live in LA and don't know the mid-town food scene that well.
Please help.
I know that it will be pricey. I am prepared.
They love Italian..no Asian or ethnic. My Dad is all meat and potatoes.
THANKS....
Another take on 8 oz - lots of potential here
Not impressed. Went the other night late like 10pm or so. The waiter kept apologizing for his lack of attention. The burger was nothing special...but those TRUFFLED POTATO SKINS were the best thing I ate...Everyone has their favorite burger joint, this is not mine. I think it will do well purely because of the location.
ANIMAL Rocks
I hear (pun intended) they are dealing with the sound issue ASAP....and might throw some cool new artists work up on some of the walls...
Coming in from LA for one night
Thanks...I am going to try it out...My friend had heard of it but not been there yet....
They don't take reservations...Do I have to worry on a Monday night?
Coming in from LA for one night
I am traveling for business and only get one night in Chicago this MONDAY.
I won't be in the city until close to 9pm so it needs to be open LATE.
I am going to meet some friends but they are not foodies..
Anything opened Monday night late? Could be a bar with good food etc...

north shore long island-need new ideas
I am looking for a new place to try with my parents. I grew up here in Jericho and now live in california. My parents have some favorites that we go to EVERYTIME I come home for a visit. They are delicious but I want to try something new...
Also it is the night before thanksgiving so no steak houses...
The places we frequent often are:
DIANES in Roslyn and LA GENESTRA in Glen Cove
Will go to Huntington if there is something new and great there...
I would love to find a good chef/restaurant that cooks local and seasonal
Thanks you in advance for any information...
Foodie heading to Jackson, MS this weekend
Thanks for all your suggestions. I did not have as much time as I anticipated. However, I did get to eat at Parker place..(Friends parents had a car) and Juleps..not to mention Waffle House which was the only thing open on Sunday morning. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be for $5. Wow. The best part was eating at Joes's Crawfish hut(??)...Near the Sports hall of fame. I had my mississippi moment of crawfish, corn on the cob and some gumbo on the back of my friends pick up truck. I plan on getting back to MS to eat again.
Foodie heading to Jackson, MS this weekend
Thanks so much for getting back to me!!
I will not have a car so that might nix some of your fav's outside of town. It would be great to have your top choice of good soul food, bbq and any good upcoming chef type of place. I love seeing/eating at a place that is using local produce/farms.
Foodie heading to Jackson, MS this weekend
I am heading to Jackson, MS this weekend for the Crossroads Film Festival. Staying in downtown Jackson. Definetly want to eat like a local. Have gathered some suggestions from some other posts but they seem outdated.
Nicks, Country Boy's Produce, Franks, Elite, Big Apple Inn and Peaches?
Anyone in on the current Jackson food scene? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS...
