Popeye's coming to East Brunswick I have been to the one located on Rt 1 in North Brunswick a few times. I used to like it more than Chipotle, but recently have been favoring Chipotle. One thing Moe's has is the Coca Cola products soda machine via which you can choose from something like a hundred different varieties of soda. Moe's also has a salsa bar with some nice salsa choices. |

My daughter indicates that the Prime Top Sirloin is the best steak she has eaten. The menu indicates that it is USDA Prime, I have wondered if that is really the case. Houlihan's is always worth a visit. I like their fish taco's, not quite as good as Baja Fresh's were, but very good in their own right. |

I would go with: Casa Guiseppe - Edison |

Wikepedia notes that french fries are only offered at certain locations. You can see their nutritional information at: http://www.nutrimirror.com/nutritioni... I could not eat an entire portion. |

Ah, Nero's. In 1984, Nero's is where I was taken for my interview/office visit lunch prior to joining KPMG. I guess I knew it was still in business, but had not thought about it for many years. Their food was always good. |

Regarding Tony Roma's, while they may not be traditionally barbecued, they were welcome sight for me during a 6 or so month period about 15 years ago when I was spending alternating 2 week periods in Singapore. The food in Singapore is great, lots of Asian variety for sure, but after a few days of eating Chicken Rice, Hot Pot etc, Tony Roma's was a nice place to go for some good western style meat. |

They have french fries at the Bridgewater location, or at least they did a few months ago. Today, I stopped into the Freehold location to get a few things, and noticed that they do not have them. I inquired as to whether they ever had them, and was told that they had never had them. So I guess it is not a standard item. |

It seems like most of the posts here relate to McDonalds, Trader Joes, and Costco consistently, with a smattering of other chains sporadically. I have taken a liking to Bonefish. What do you like or dislike about this place? What is your favorite dish? |

Hurricane Damage to NJ Restaurants We ate at the Shrimp Box tonight. I thought I had heard it has been reopened for a while, but the waitress told us that they had just reopened on Wednesday. The hostess told me that the water had come half way up the waterside windows, and that they will be putting some markings/plaques indicating the high water mark. Reds Lobster Pot has a for sale sign on it. Daniel's Bistro has a sign indicating that they will reopen. |

Does anyone remember 10 cent wing night at Leggetts? The Brunswick Grove has 25 cent wings on Tuesdays. I am not a big fan of them, as they are on the small side, but they are tasty. I know a number of people who have not missed a Tuesday night in years. I like some of the other Grove nights, such as Mexican night, which I think might be Wednesdays, when they have various Mexican type items for $2 or #. |

Moving to Princeton from NYC - what are your favorites? I recommend Tre Piani in the Forrestal Village on Rt 1. For my $ it is the second or third best Italian restaurant in NJ. The others at the top of my list being Il Villagio on Rt 10 in Parsippany and Casa Guiseppe in Edison. |

Whitehouse Subs - Trump Taj Mahal I had heard that the original suffered some damage during the hurricane. Does anyone know for certain that is open/has re opened? |

East Brunswick & surrounding area River Thai, on Main Street in South River in my opinion is the best Thai restaurant in the area. Their Massaman (Mussaman) curry is great, as are the Thai Basil Noodles. |

East Brunswick & surrounding area Perrone's is now Casa Nova 68. Still owned by the guy who last owned Perrone's, with an upgraded menu and liquor license. I like it, the food is always excellent; had one of the best filet's of my life there, the scallops with pesto are almost perfect. |

Great Steaks in Northern Jersey? Re Steve's Sizzling Steaks, we ate there last fall, and were not impressed. The place was cramped and crowded. The food was not bad, just fairly basic. While it might have some appeal if you have good memories of it, as it does have a sort of character to it that cannot just be created, it reminded me of a place whose best days are behind it. Sammy's, in Mendham, is a place that brings back memories to me. It is still there, although I have not eaten there for at least 5 years. |

Another place that has come to mind is Jose Tejas. You can order fries in place of the black beans or jambalaya. The fries are very thin, a little crispy and almost always served hot. Get them along with their best dish, French Quarter Chicken, and you've got a great meal. |

Great Steaks in Northern Jersey? If you like Arthur's in Morris Plains, try the place next door, Collins Pub. Their NY Strip is a notch above. Although not served every day, their sauteed fresh mushrooms are a great side dish. |

Elizabeth NJ and surrounding area There used to be a place, Finnagels, on North Broad Street, which was very good. Not sure if it is there anymore, but they could always be counted on for solid food. |

Yes, European Provisions is good. Their house smoked hams are great, not cheap, but really great. There is another place in East Brunswick, which I have not tried, but think might also be worth a try. It is at the south end of town, on County road 615 I think. Continental Homemade Provisions |

European Provisions is the place on Old Bridge Turnpike. I think they would have it. |

I used to eat at the location in Lake Mary Florida probably 2 or 3 of the days of each week that I was down there. I like the place, they are much better than Subway, with a good variety of specialty combo sandwiches. For the life of me I cannot remember which was my favorite, but Hook and Ladder rings a bell, I also recall they have some kind of barbecue sandwich with cheddar and onions. |

This recommendation may be driven mostly by the value, but the fries they serve at Costco always hit the spot. For $1.50, you get a meal sized portion, that are always piping hot. Granted they are frozen, and the coated variety, As far as a restaurant recommendation, that will require some more thought. I like them all as long as they are served fresh and hot. |

You may also want to consider Brother Jimmy's in New Brunswick. I've only eaten there once, the brisket was very good. |

East Brunswick Baja Fresh: closed Yes, the original Baja style fish taco's were excellent. I have eaten at the chain at various places around the country, and it is consistently excellent. I always felt that the various menu changes were getting them away from their single best item, the Baja style fish taco's. They really stopped putting them on the menu a couple of years back, you had to ask for them, and half the time they gave you the grilled fish version, which were very lame. |

Individual Serving Size Oval/Oblong Baking Dishes I have been trying to find a good source for these. I am looking for individual serving size baking dishes to bake things like fish filets, scallops, shrimp etc. I see them all the time in restaurants, but have not been able to find them in stores or on line. Does anyone have an idea where I can get them? |

Servers (managers?) padding the bill I suggest deducting the extra charges from the tip. Let the server work it out with management. |

Brother Jimmy's Barbecue - New Brunswick Thanks for the review. I was in NYC today, came back by train to the New Brunswick station, down the stairs, looked right, saw that Brother Jimmy's was open, contemplated for a few seconds whether I should stop in, but decided to turn left and head for the car. Next time I will stop in. |

|
Brother Jimmy's Barbecue - New Brunswick I believe that it is now open, or at least the various signs and lights have been on. Have not stopped there yet, will have to do it one of these weekends. |

Brother Jimmy's Barbecue - New Brunswick Has anyone tried this place yet? I think they opened in the last month or so. |
