Where to eat near Courtice
Plus Price's Market on HWY 2 in Bowmanville is good for fresh fruit, vegetables, potatoes in the summer. Also, Algoma Orchards has a grocery store/market with a nice bakery, fresh fruit, and many sauces and flavourings and sauces I am sure you will enjoy h . ttp://algomaorchards.com/
Where to eat near Courtice
I know what you mean about the all encompassing asian restaurant. Perhaps because the east end of Durham Region is not as ethnically diverse they feel the need to service all tastes. My fave in Oshawa is Azian http://www.azian.ca/main.asp . I love the dressing they have in their house salad. Are you moving from Toronto?
Where to eat near Courtice
Hi. I live in Bowmanville and second the quality of Chantarelle's. Really good food with a nice atmosphere. Bobby C's in Bowmanville has decent food but the real draw is eating on the deck overlooking the arena http://bobbycs.com/ . My girlfriend and I's best place for value and atmosphere is Bittmore's in Courtice http://www.thebittmore.com/ . The pizza is very good and the wings are excellent, especially the pineapple curry. The Courtyard in Courtice has a great patio in the summer, has the feel of a real British pub, and shows all important soccer matches http://thecourtyardrestaurant.ca/home_courtice.html . The best Chinese food in the area is Tang Dynasty in Bowmanville http://thetangdynasty.com/ . My gf really likes That Hotspot http://www.thaihotspot.ca/. There are quality food options away from the chains. You just have to look. Let me know if this is helpful. Happy eating!
chicken wing deals on a Saturday night in Toronto
I was just wondering if there were any bars/pun in the downtown area that had any deals on chicken wings on a Saturday night. I will be down Saturday for the jays game and am also a huge chicken wings guy, so if there were any recommendations, I would appreciate it. perhaps somewhere I could also watch some hockey playoff action. I have been to Gretzky's (great hot wings), RT sports (very good suicide wings), hoops, etc. Anybody have anywhere else walkable? Thanks all!
Any place to buy boudin in Toronto area?
Just curious if they are any stores in the Toronto area or east that sell prepared boudin or any restaurants that have been known to serve it on their menu? I have recently discovered this food and would like more if possible...lol. Thanks!

Best Wings in Hamilton
I will be in Hamilton in a couple of weeks and would like to know what places to visit for the best wings in town. I will be staying at the Days INN on Main St. and was going to visit a few pubs on Augusta St. Any pubs there have good wings worth seeking out? Anywhere else in the city? I love a good wing so please add suggestions. Thanks!
Autumn Dinner party
for dessert, why not create apple infused parfaits? A great recipe can be found here http://family.go.com/food/recipe-656219-apple-crisp-parfait-t/ . A nice ending to a great meal. You could ligthtly put on some chocolate topping on if desired. Good luck and let us know how the meal goes.
Hey Meatball on College - Sandwich sizes
For half the price I will take the meatball sandwich at Big Slice at Young just south of College anyday. the decor may not be much, but the food is mighty tasty!
Is there any "American-style" pizza in Toronto?
I will second Pino Pizza. An awesome pizza which does not scrimp on toppings, yet is very flavourful with being over the top,
bison meat sold in durham region?

Buffalo Wild Wings suggestions
Hi All. I live near Oshawa and the chain "Buffalo Wild Wing" is spreading its wings in to Canada and will soon open a location in Oshawa. I realize it is a chain restaurant, but not having had visited any American restaurants of theirs, does anyone have any reviews of their food/wings or any suggestions to try? Thanks.

are there any gourmet/boutique food shop in Durham Region?
Hi all. I am wondering if there are any gourmet or boutique food stores in Durham Region, similar to something like The Cheese Boutique in Toronto http://www.cheeseboutique.com/. I am looking for a place to buy nice sauces, chutneys, breads, cheeses, chocolate etc that are better than at Metro (ugh!). I have seen Mainly Cheese in Ajax but never really investigated in thoroughly. In specific I am looking for a place for hot sauces, bbq sauces and chutneys. Any suggestion or do I have to continue driving to Toronto? Thanks for all suggestions.

Best date restaurant in Ajax?
Hi all. I am looking for a nice restaurant I can take a date in Ajax? Mid level pricing preferred, but I will go higher if the food is well recommended. All types of food will be considered. Hopefully something not too loud where two people can have a conversation without music blaring or people crowding your table. thanks for all advice!
Decent restaurant on I 45 between Houston and Dallas
Hi. i am from Toronto and am taking a summer trip to Texas and will be driving the I 45 between Dallas and Houston. WE figure it is between 4 and 5 hours (is this accurate?). Anyways, I was wondering if there were any decent restaurants where we could grab lunch ? BBQ or any other type? We don't want to veer too far from the Interstate. I have heard of Texas Burger in Madisonville, but if anyone knows of some place else, especially right along the interstate, would be appreciated. thanks, and I look forward to the trip.
Any decent restauranst near Minute Maid Park in Houston?
As you can probably tell by previous posts, I am planning a trip to Houston and am staying at the Hilton Americas by Minute Maid Park. Any decent restaurants within walking distance of the ballpark/hotel? Moderate pricing, American, Italian and Asian style food preferred. Anyone eaten at the restaurant at the Hilton hotel? Finally, are there any standout food at Minute Maid Park to try, or is it all standard ballpark fare? Thanks for all the help.!!
recommended restaurants near Dallas Fairmont
I am planning a trip in Dallas and have hotel reservations at the Fairmont hotel in Dallas. Can anybody recommend any decent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Moderately priced and North American, BBQ , Asian or Italian restaurants are preferred. Also, has anyone eaten at the restaurant at the Fairmont? If so, is it any good? Any suggestions would be a great help.
BBQ joints along I 45
Hi all. I am planning a summer trip to Dallas and Houston and am doing some advanced scouting. On one of my days I will be driving from Houston to Dallas along I 45 and was wondering if there were some authentic Texas BBQ joints along the way that you could suggest. Please have them as close to the interstate as possible, as this is unknown territory to me. Any along the route would be perfect. Thanks all!!!

Good Wings in Durham Region?
if you are willing to take the drive to Bowmanville, there are two decent places for wings. A new restaurant opened up at Longworth and Liberty called The Wing Pit. They have ten flavours and they are all good (I have had them all). if you like spice they have some with some nice kick. Also in Bowmanville I love the wings at The Village Inn. A nice atmosphere, cheap beer and great crispy wings. Finally, Churchill's in oshawa at taunton and Simcoe are decent as well. Anyone agree? Disagree?

Need help! Toronto Wedding Venue April 2010
I agree with The Great Hall as a venue. My brother recently was married there and it was a great venue. It can accommodate up to 150 people, and the balcony adds a nice touch. They also have catering and the location is easy to get to.
Hamilton/Whitby Dinner & Breakfast
If you are in Whitby and need a quick lunch, go to Starr burger on Brock Street. They are the best burgers in Durham Region, in my opinion. Get the homemade burger (they also have a pre made patty). They also have steak sandwiches, sausages, onion rings, ice cream, etc. If a more formal meal is your choosing, the food at Krebs (just a bit further north on Brock) is a good stop. Quality cooked meals and the best salad bar around!
The Blue 5300 Chophouse
I was wondering if anyone has been to the restaurant 5300 Chophouse at The Blue in Doral. I will be staying at the resort next month (coming from Toronto) and wondering if anyone had any reviews. Thanks!
Trip to St. Petersburg
I am visiting Tampa Bay/St. Pete's with a friend and am staying at the Bayshore Hilton in St. Petersburg. Has anyone been to their hotel restaurant "Tangerine"? If so, what was the food/the experience like? Are there any decent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel as an alternative, with a moderate price range and North American type food as a preference. We will also be attending a couple of Rays games. Are there any types of food aside from standard stadium food that stand out? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Trip to Miami
A friend and myself are planning a trip to Miami and St. Petersburg for early August. I will ask about St. Petersburg in a subsequent query. In Miami we are staying at The Blue Resort (Doral) and are going to be catching a couple of Marlins games as well. Has anyone been to the restaurant at The Blue called 5300 Chophouse? If so, what was your experience like and what was the food/prices like? Secondly, can anyone tell me if there are any standouts at Dolphin stadium to eat besides the normal stadium fare.? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Pearl Street Brewery Buffalo
Hi all. I am taking a trip soon to Buffalo and am wondering if anyone has eaten at the Pearl Street Brewery. I hear the beer selection is good, but have not heard about the food. Any input is appreciated.
new to ajax/durham - Seafood/butcher/groceries
If you like fresh meat, try Halendas at Garrard Rd. and highway 2 in Whitby. I find it to be the best butcher shop around
Busch Stadium food
I recently attended a St. louis Cardinals game at Busch stadium and I have to say, for stadium food, i was impressed. I liked the fact that they had a Gates concession on the first level. I was in the Redbird section and was very impressed by their selection. Besides the traditional ballpark fare, this section had made to order stir fry and pizza. I had the pizza, and it was the best ballpark meal i have ever had. It was fresh, made to order, and was flavourful with plently of cheese. anyone else had this pizza or feel Busch stadium food is above average? I am interested in all comments.
St.L - Charlie Gitto's
I recently visited St. Louis with a friend and had reccomended to us a restaurant called Charlie Gitto's. I have to say that it was awesome. Is this place well known throughout teh city and region? I had their soup of the day, a cream chicken noodle which was perhaps the best i have ever had, and teh shrimp scampi, which was well done. My friend had a caeser salad and glazed pork chops which he talked about all night. The atmosphere was great, and seeing all the celebs who had visited the place was interesting as well. It was a bit loud in there, and the walk up the stairs to the washroom was a drawback, but otherwise, it was great. And to top it all off, it was reasonably priced. Does anybody else feel this is one of the great restaurants of St. louis? if not, why not? just curious.
