French Press, Aeropress or Clever Coffee Dripper
Certainly not an every day use for me, but I love my AeroPress. I consider it a great compliment to my Bodum.
No, it's not your imagination. The Quaker Oats dude (aka Larry Quaker) has gone on a diet.
I want to +1/Like this. Thanks for the laugh.

Try one of the seafood shops. Last time I bought fresh oysters, it was from Billingsgate.
Gelatto in Edmonton?
I remember a gelato change at one point at Famoso and wondered what happened. I suppose with the expansion they would have to find something consistent and capable of supply.
I quite enjoy the gelato at Da Capo as well. Leva can carry quite a good selection during the summer too. I've heard decent things about the gelato at Chocolate Exquisite, but have never been.

CHARCUT Roast House Calgary
If you haven't gone, I can't suggest it soon enough. A definite gem for me, and something I'd almost drive from Edmonton for. The bone marrow and house pickles were fantastic!!
Prairie Bistro - The Enjoy Centre - St. Albert
A bit of a trip to St.Albert for me, but I'm looking forward to it when I get a chance. Thanks for the info Bob.
La Poutine - Opening Soon in Edmonton
Bummer about the charge. The containers were available with lids, so I can't imagine why they'd charge that much more.
La Poutine - Opening Soon in Edmonton
I headed down yesterday after voting. The queue was big, but I think that has a bit to do with the interior which is actually quite small. Poutine comes in two sizes, with the smaller size seemingly quite small. Tried the Traditional and The Qubecois (topped with Montreal smoked meat). The fries are fresh cut, and look they were fried to perfection but the reality was they were quite soft and mushy. Gravy was decent although it pooled to the bottom. The curds were excellent, with a great bite and the required squeak. Not sure the Quebecois was the right 2nd order; but I'll be back when the lineups and service aren't so rushed.
La Poutine - Opening Soon in Edmonton
Just received an email from the team at La Poutine, saying they'll be open starting tomorrow (May 2nd). I'm pretty excited to taste their efforts. Maybe some post voting/election treats!
YO Edmontonians! Anyone try Pampas Brazilian Steakhouse...for LUNCH?
I was underwhelmed at dinner as well.
Edmonton City Market
If you make it out to the Salisbury Market on Thursday evenings, there is a farm there selling fresh butter/cream/cottage cheese etc.
Quite delicious. I picked some up last week.
Chinese Barbeque on 97th Street in Edmonton - Which is best ?
This must be the thread we were talking about at the market last Saturday, right Anonymoose? I'm bummed we don't have a solid consensus on where to get good BBQ treats now.
Edmonton "Chic"
I agree with Dan. Blue Pear/Hardware/Red Ox.
Corso 32/Niche/The Marc...great additions to Edmonton but maybe not pampering enough or for that special night.
I always hear very mixed things about Characters.

I have to side with Anonymoose on this one. I see individual potatoes at every grocery store I go too. Definitely worth a bit of a look around.

Seahorse Soup In Edmonton
Well I googled Seahorse Soup and this came up as the number two option in the results. I've never heard of it, but it wouldn't surprise me. Wonder what will come of this.

Everything Cheese - Edmonton
Stopped into the new cheese shop Everything Cheese. The shop is gorgeous; a mix of warm colours and wood. The cheese display is clean and crisp. They have a full chalkboard cheese menu for those who'd rather read the names than be enticed by the visuals.
Friendly service including samples etc..They also stock various other food items; cheese boards, knives, olives, oils, crackers, even some pasta I think.
Definitely worth a visit!.
